  1. Back in the day people from Ohio would come up to Pigeon/Sturgeon lakes and load up on walleyes. Now they come up and load up on bluegill/pumpkinseed which are huge in Tri-Lakes. Sunfish are good scrappers on ultra-light fishing gear. Crappies fight like baby sized wet socks. Fun stuff. Thanks for pics!
  2. Ya, it's too bad your posts with Misfish don't get the same attention. I remember 15 yrs. back you guys carried the board with fish reports. At least you still try but the reports get buried fast now
  3. I think the point the people doing fishing reports here are saying is they are tired of these political diatribes about burning like a witch liberal lesbian premiers for fun. Like one poster above said these 15 page laugh fests are getting old. Read the replies great fishermen are getting tired of this stuff. No matter who is in power you will pay taxes...
  4. Again, great stuff MB2! Your kids look pretty happy, best thing about fishing is making the kids happy.
  5. Great post, thanks! Yes, that is what fishing is all about. Still remember my father taking me to Lynde Shores in Whitby when four. Caught bullheads and sunfish and was forever hooked on fishing. When about 9 he took me to Claremont park Pickering headwaters of Duffin's Creek caught my first brook trout , still into Lake O headwater creek brookies... Your kids should always remember!
  6. Actually the GTA votes Conservative. The last couple of mayors and current one are conservative. All the GTA surrounding Toronto (Richmond Hill, Oshawa etc...are conservative as well.) Conservative Rob Ford's crack smoking, drunk follies made politics fun. Make sure to vote for Rona Ambrose federally she is dressed and ready to whip things in Canada into shape... http://i.huffpost.com/gen/3926074/thumbs/o-RONA-AMBROSE-570.jpg?13
  7. Great post and photos MB2! Fishing reports are too rare on this fishing board. Thanks for this! Had an aunt that lived in Stratton way back. Was real young when we did 24 hr. drive up there. The river was slow and milky there. It scared me as child i thought a sturgeon would pull me in the water.
  8. Yup, there done now. At least we get to see Lebron James play...probably best player since Michael Jordan.
  9. Yawn, Another grumpy old man political thread...you have a property on lake, boats and tons of toys...but no fishing reports? When fishing we were to busy catching fish, talking about wives or other hotties, never politics... no one cared...go fishing, you have everything including lakefront house, perfect.
  10. Guess now a month later the Raptors aren't toasted yet. In the regular season in three games the Raptors went 2-1 against Cleveland.
  11. I would agree with Sandbanks PP. East Lake is shallow and easy fishing for walleye, pike, bass. Not that picturesque however. Right off 401 so only couple hours trip. Bon Echo PP is an hour or so north of Sandbanks, way more beautiful, second deepest lake in Ontario (Mazinaw Lake), apparently great fishing for walleye, bass, i had less success fishing, but potential is there...beauty place though.
  12. Carp usually spawn shallow marshy areas around Oshawa last two weeks of June or so...
  13. Yawn, another grumpy old man political thread polluting the board. How about a fishing report....
  14. Great report! Beauty fish and no bugs. The Petawawa is a gem on north side of Algonquin. Would always fish from Lake Traverse down... http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=64097&hl=%2Balgonquin+%2Breport
  15. Like the dog poking it's nose in there...good going!
  16. Great report! Those Erie jumbo perch are the size of Kawartha walleyes. Looks like good time and great feed. Awesome!
  17. Back in the day would troll the back channel (east side Boyd Island) weedline 10-15 ft. at opener with orange Benos and black/gold Rapalas. Find the back channel weedline and slowly troll with baits mentioned or similar. Good luck!
  18. Nice fishing! Beauty specks so close to your home. Thanks for sharing!
  19. The question asked initially was can there be no bluegill/panfish in a Kawartha lake. Have fished Head Lake many, many times and never caught a panfish. Used the micro tube float even worms at typical locations to no avail.
  20. Fished Head Lake near Norland many times over years and caught big 8lb. walleye, large smallmouth bass, and even musky(Kawartha record musky 42 lb from there) but never caught any panfish at all. Apparently some perch are listed on MNR lists but i never caught despite effort.
  21. Nice going! I always enjoy the videos you post.
  22. The first photo with pines reflecting off lake is perfect start. Incredible trouts. Reports with pics/video are few and far between on forum these days. Thanks for this report!
  23. Reminds me of life in Lindsay 23 yrs. ago...fishing walleye, etc...
  24. Hopefully you resolve your family issues, not just on a internet fishing board. 13 pages of reading has shown how most kids are working hard now with new technologies and massive amounts of information to filter. I am impressed with the kids these days.
