  1. FWIW Wayne , It has been three years since this thread started The strength and spirit shown by Jen and her loved ones should help others. Still living as well as possible, despite whatever, is what i have learned. Thanks and best wishes.
  2. Lots of nice quality fish there Jacques. All day fishing with a buddy is the best.
  3. Think all the video evidence worked against this cop. The kid had a 3 inch Swiss Army knife on empty streetcar..
  4. This report is awesome! Kind of like watching the best of Simply Fishing. Dream trip for sure. Great scenery, wildlife, super fishing, incredible food and service, etc............
  5. Nice big quality fish! This picture really shows the girth of that beast. Great stuff
  6. Congrats to you and your father. Fish of a lifetime for anyone! Awesome!
  7. The only fish they stock are about 150,000 lake trout and 100,000 whitefish a year. Now some musky are stocked which were over fished about 60- 100 yrs ago. Even a couple of decades ago heard about the odd one caught. My PB walleye/ pickerel at 16 lbs. came from Simcoe about 15 yrs. ago. Never stocked.
  8. Ya rainbows are native to Pacific. Musky are native and once dominated the lake. They should do well. Walleye are native, there are some huge ones, but are never targeted. They should stock them.
  9. Great report! Looks like a super trip. Everyone looks thrilled! Is that Kawarthas muskies?
  10. Had the same experience a few times. About 15 yrs. ago was fishing Dalrymple in mid summer the braided line was lifting off surface, graphite rods humming and giving shocks. Got scared and docked the boat.. Ended up catching biggest crappies of my life, from dock, minutes later at 15 1/2 in. each. Just before t-storm started capped it off with about 5 lb.largemouth from dock Caught the pre-storm feeding frenzy.
  11. After looking at those links it is obviously a milk snake. So milk snake it is, Cool find!
  12. You are best off to pick a large river/creek start at the mouth and walk upstream tossing small spinners into deeper obvious pools.
  13. It is a fox snake. Not that commonly seen.
  14. Wow, great week of musky fishing there! I was about same age when i was taken musky trolling up there and became hooked on it for rest of life. Looks like an excellent time.
  15. A great report from Algonquin as usual. Having a skilled chef along must had been a huge bonus for your buddies. Nice job on the Kawartha musky.. Those super shad raps work well for the Kawarthas. Always wondered about Bluegill one. Excellent stuff!
  16. That is an excellent report! Took a while but thoroughly read it, brilliant writing. Almost too much to comment on.... Many thanks!
  17. It is a big, old fat musky. Nice surprising catch. If you look at O'Briens 65 lb,. 58 by 30 inch fish or Williamson's 61 lb., 53.5 by 30 inch fish. they are way bigger than this supposed 64 inch fish.
  18. Good going on catching the smallmouths. Maybe the best smallmouth bass fishing in the world is found there around you.. Check out this link.... http://www.charlessim.com/media/PressRelease_NewCanadianRecord.pdf
  19. There seems yo be some attacks by wolves in North America but mainly in the vast wilderness of Russia. Was surprised by the frequency even in North America. Solopaddler wrote about being stalked by one in a report last year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_attacks_on_humans
  20. Seems like most photos of you with a musky is something tou would see in Musky Hunter magzaine.!
  21. My disability really put a wrench in my fishing. Need lots of help from others to make it happen. What Roy says is right on. Don't even bother with trying to get him in bass boat. Its too small and would be uncomfortable and dangerous. Renting a pontoon boat with adequate docking facilities is the way. There is a member here 'Randy from Sturgeon' who is an expert in this field. Maybe he will chime in or you can PM him. Good luck and be careful.
  22. This was kind of like reading an excellent article in fishing magazine.. The fact you set out on this adventure yourself is incredible, planning must had been paramount. Amazing fishing and report!
  23. Lake Ontario fished out of bass and pike? lol. Give your head a shake! A decade ago posts on bass/pike in Lake O maybe brought maybe a half dozen extra people to islands with there spincast outfits throwing bobbers with worms, or Red Devils. No need to alarm without knowledge.
  24. Pearson recorded 126 mm of rain to set all time one day record rainfall beating Hurricane Hazel. Once in a lifetime event.
  25. They are saying Pearson airport received 123 mm of rain which set a one day record rainfall. . It mostly fell between 5-9 pm. Still light rain here.
