That's Bull! If you just want to exchange them for a new pair, they shouldn't fight that one bit. Did you ask to speak to a manager? If not, I would phone or email them and explain the situation( I wouldn't waste my time driving back there) If the manager has any sense he will correct that situation in a hurry.

Has anyone fished for bass on the Lake Ontario shoreline? I'm not talking about Quinte or the other bays in the area, I mean out in the main lake. I have been curious about this for a few years. I may not catch anything, but I want to give it a try. Does anyone know of a good place to start between say Port Hope and Belleville? If you have tried this let me know. Thanks.

I will second the recommendation from "solo Paddler". Atwood Island lodge has a log cabin they rent out about a 5 min. boat ride from the main lodge. Stayed there last fall for $50 per night per night. It's basic, but clean and you can't beat the scenery on the lower French

You are going to have fun with that Shasta. I have a 36 lb thrust trolling motor and it will zip along pretty good. You might want to buy a tube to pull around behind you! I'd say you handled that about as well as you could.Sometimes those situations can turn ugly. I agree with the others that you should report that to the police. They were trying to intimidate you into buying a license to make a quick buck. The problem is, the police probably won't do anything about because they are afraid to confront natives on just about everything. Thats why these guys try this stuff.......Because they can get away with it.

That is crazy. i'm glad you told her you didn't like the price. Too often we just bite our tongue and pay. I hope they start to lose more customers because of this. Marina's aren't cheap to buy, and if no one shows up they won't be paying the bills for long.

Yep. You can work it as fast or slow as you like. You will catch a lot of bass this way as well. Just like Pickeral, they will hit on the drop most times.

Are you fishing by yourself, or with someone in the front of the boat? If you are alone most of the time you might want to put some ballast in the front to help plane it out better.

Pickeral fishing last weekend we were getting hit by bass in deeper water around the weedlines. Seems like most if not all are off their beds. It is unfortunate timing that the ministry changed the season and the first year we get a late summer. I guess we'll find out in a couple of years if they were wrong or not.

In the summer try tossing a weedless spoon into weed beds. You can pull it back real slow, or jig it back to the boat. I pfrefer the Johnson Silver minnow. You can tip it with plastic if you want, but they work well without. Just remember to sharpen the hooks on silver minnows as they are not the sharpest out of the package.
