  1. Another spring crappie report. Good stuff Nice Black Crappies!
  2. Those white crappie aren't caught much in Ontario. Good fishing!
  3. ehg

    FATTY!

That is a blob of Carp Doesn't look like it is very good to eat.
  4. Just a heads up that pike closes midnight Mar 31. and opens again 5 weeks or so later on Lake Ontario and harbour waters.
  5. HaHa! That link goes back to this thread. All this talk of development of 99 lots etc,,,,,has been going on for 15-20 yrs. At least it is going at a slow pace. Some of best fishing i have had in southern Ontario for SM bass, walleye, and musky has been around this island. Hopefully they don't screw up this great fishery.
  6. I use Avast, Google Chrome etc...... and received no malware warnings or anything. Closed a few ads and went full screen and it streamed perfectly. Anyways, some fights were great. Condit-Hendricks especially. GSP dominated by keeping it on the ground. Not spectacular but effective .
  7. Yup, that one works great once you close irritating ads and go full screen. Time to start watching!
  8. Whether or not they will hit the baits wasnt even part of the question. Everybody's so quick to bash pike and praise musky.. muskies are joky little pansies who die after you reel them in. Stupid is the fish that fights itself to death, i'd say. HaHa! Musky bashing. Big difference between pike and musky is that musky are poor table fare. Have caught plenty of musky while jigging for walleyes. Once one died so i kept it.(back when size limit was 36 inch in Kawarthas). Gave it to cottagers nearby. They had fish fry with bass, walleye and said musky. Everything was great except the musky which i slipped to my dog under picnic table.
  9. Enjoyed this report! Kinda reminds me of reading a great article w/ pics in fishing mag like decades ago.
  10. A great report ! Just doing this trip must had been a serious chore. It surely paid off in the end. Memory of a lifetime. Awesome stuff!
  11. Those fish despite their size still look quite edible. Fantastic! Thanks for posting.
  12. I think a member here (Superdad) caught a 20.25 lb. walleye on Quinte many years ago. I remember ice fishing Talbot River/Lake Simcoe by Gamebridge last week of March in the 90's and people walking by with 20 lb. walleyes they KEPT. There is a world record walleyes in Lake Simcoe or Lake Ontario/Quinte. no doubt.
  13. Though nothing is big for you that day, like the multi- species reporting. Anything in Simcoe has the potential to reach great size. White crappie, largemouth bass, channel cats aren't often targeted out there. I remember 20 yrs. ago fishing near Beaverton for walleye, last week of March, and catching 15 lb. walleye and seeing near 20 lbers come through the ice. The fish in Simcoe can get huge.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxSFSdcGPLMhtt The video below contains most, intense, intricate jam session ever recorded on video. Any musicians grouped together would only wish to rock out as such. Full screen is best.
  15. Found generally the more expensive open spinnerbaits are more durable and run more true. The closed ring ones are easier to use with snaps etc...if i am in lure changing mood.
  16. This map shows the very limited range of green sunfish in Ontario. No wonder they are not seen much. http://www.ontariofishes.ca/bigmap.php?FID=130&OMNR=312
  17. Great to see Bald Eagles making a big comeback into southern Ontario. Thanks for the pictures.
  18. Thought it was either warmouth or green sunfish. The bigmouth on it made me think warmouth. Nice uncommon catch anyways.
  19. Ya it is a Warmouth. Guess you caught it around Rondeau Bay/Lake Erie. They are very uncommon and considered an endangered species in Ontario. Here is a link... http://www.rom.on.ca/ontario/risk.php?doc_type=fact&id=86
  20. I remember stumbling upon this website about a decade ago and seeing total page views about 400,000 or so and thinking that was amazing. Loved reading reports and submitting them as well. Little less reports these days but still a great resource for fishing fanatics.
  21. Ya had Plymouth Voyager back in 90's it was stolen couple of times. Once i bought the Club steering wheel thingy the thefts stopped..Must deter them. You might want to try one of them.
  22. Sorry to hear this. What a pain in the butt. Live in downtown T.O and this is sort of common here as well. Had vehicles stolen about 5 times in 80's and 90's. They were Dodge Caravans with child seats but didn't matter to thieves. Haven't had a theft for a dozen years or so though. Thinking it was because i lock my car with the Club steering lock always. Could be because there is many BMW's, Mercedes, etc parked near me so van doesn't look that desirable Luckily insurance covered me at time hopefully they help you.
  23. Nice report on your time fishing that great area. Many thanks for post!
  24. Like the big musky pictures. Thought i would go through this... Georgian Bay produces big ones...this is largest measured and weighed. Caught incidentally...65lbs. This guy tried hard for many years and caught this...61+lbs. The St.Lawrence/Ottawa R. has produced big ones. All caught and released. This is reproduction of Mcnair musky. Claimed catch release record by Bill Craig caught near Ottawa. Lazarus/Barbosa muskies... Like the BIG musky pictures! Probably next world record will come from St.Lawrence/ Ottawa R. or Georgian Bay.
