  5. At my trailer park all the yuppies were afraid to use the remaining gas for outboards, weed eaters, lawn mowers and what ever in their fancy cars so they gave to me to put in my old truck. As long as there was no water in it the old girl didn't give rats ass it just purred home on a free tank of gas.330000 km on the same converter says 50/1 oil mix won't hurt once in awhile. vance
  6. if it was just that easy -not-my buddy the electrician says you need an isolator panel to keep from powering the grid. I put in a generator panel to do just what you want and it works great. vance
  7. That system is also available for ice skates, recreational only.People that I skate with have them and love them,I was going to by a pair but the boots did conform to my foot very well. vance
  8. My dad's old tackle box has one of those in it I just wish I could ask him what it is. vance
  9. Better check the local zoning bylaws, most cities try to prevent subletting out houses especially to students in residential areas.there are limits even then on how many rooms you can let and permits are needed. vance
  10. Thought for SURE it would be a pic of one of my fishing buddies vance
  11. Just about how I imagined my Smoker craft was built but I thought they would have painted it first and then the interior done.Mine has painted insides with the carpet over top.But then things have changed in 10 years.I wouldn't want to be either one of those guys pounding rivets, doing hollows with an air gun is bad enough. vance
  12. my buddy has a similar problem with his 25 merc, the only thing fishy was the primer bulb was going soft when the motor started to slow,he took off the cover and at wot you could see the gas drain out of the fuel filter till there was almost none.we are pretty sure it was the 0 rings on the gas line at the tank or motor or both were sucking some air ,the line was original and very hard so he replaced but he hasn't been out to test it yet. Basically just a SIMPLE PLUMBING JOB vance

Yes you need to have it on for it to count as pfd,I always wear mine as I figure if push comes to shove and you really need it you won't be leaving the boat voluntarily but under duress and maybe unconscious!!! vance
  14. Great idea, you can never get enough fishing in with your dad and you can fish with him every time out now. vance
  15. I will phone my ex and see if her broom is still working. :rofl2: vance
  16. I just checked my trailer owners manual(shorelander) and no where does it say anything about bolt torques other the the wheels.Every year I take a ratchet and wrench and check all my bolts and nuts after the boat goes in the water, which the manual states must be done. All my nuts are self locking and after the first year I have never had a loose one.My guess is about 60 Lbs /ft. vance
  17. Me too vance
  18. Stainless steel in the micro wave is ok,I don't know why but the waves don't cause sparking and it doesn't heat up. vance
  19. I have used both cable and electric steer, the cable is way faster to turn and I find it easier to steer with because in windy situations the electric drive isn't fast enough to keep up with the direction changes brought on by the wind. vance
  20. I got this from http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=391323 1. Fully charge battery. 2. Start engine and warm her up. 3. Remove all spark plugs and disconnect fuel line. 4. Rig a jumper to engage starter solenoid without turning ignition on. Pull the emergency kill switch on rope start engines. 5. Screw gauge into #1. 6. Turn engine over until reading on gauge stops increasing or 5 times, whichever is more. 7. Repeat #5 for all cylinders. All psi readings should be within a 10-15% span. * It has no effect to open the throttle. * Don't get psi hysteria. Remember this is a 2 stroke engine and you are an amateur at compression testing. * Rope start engines will usually give lower psi readings than your know-it-all neighbor claims are required. Same for big JohnnyRude V6s _ vance
