  1. The hatchery is located on highway 48 just north of Stouffville. vance
  2. The one most important thing that I have discovered about bait casters is that you can not use any form of wrist flick in your cast,it all has to be done with a sweeping arm motion. The attempt at a little greater distance with a little to much oomph usually results in a birds nest.I hope this helps. vance
  3. I for one always wanted to do jury duty just for the experience and when I got called last year to go I was in 7th heaven. A father was accused of molesting his daughter,no one over 35 was picked and no one who had ANYTHING to do with kids for a living was picked.I never got called up-there were 200 people for the selection-and one of the two guys who tried dodge out of being selected spent the nite in jail for his trouble. The judge was so pissed he gave everyone a 5 minute lecture on our duties as Canadian citizens and our rights and freedoms, made Jury duty sound like a privilege and I think he was right.. vance

  11. Fundy National Park in N.B.- the lake on top of the mountain-a rented 10ft canvass boat on a no motor allowed lake.I was ALLOWED to row down the lake and we anchored in 8-10ft of water. After 15 min my dad says to me DON'T MOVE in a whisper, out of the bush comes a bull moose and walks out into the water not 5 feet from us and proceeds to eat off the bottom. His head and neck are out of the water while he is chewing and he just STARES at us and then he calmly turns around and SILENTLY-did I say WITHOUT a SOUND disappears into the bush. After a minute or so dad says it might be a good idea if you used those oars. vance
  12. Lake Openongo May 24 - 12 ft boat 6hp motor-near freezing-dense fog-and a fair bit of wind and we figure its safe to head up the lake to go fishing.Well dad and I got lost in the fog the waves nearly swamped the boat we never even got to fish because we were too busy bailing. When we got back to the dock one of the local guides asked us if we were nuts to go out in this weather. We told him we nearly made it to the west arm,all he said was IDIOTS and walked away and after a pause my dad said you know he is RIGHT, and what ever you do DON"T tell your mother!!!! I talked to GM exec who is a friend of mine and he has been in several meetings this week about the Vibe and he is REALLY pissed off because Toyota will NOT tell GM anything about the problem.Even though the matrix and vibe are sister cars I am willing to say that they DON'T have the same control modules because of different option packages. vance
  16. I fish and I used to hunt-I quit hunting the day I heard bullets going through the trees over my head.My dad went through WW2 and Korea and the closest he came to getting killed was by his hunting partner shooting at a deer with a semi automatic,5 of the 12 rounds the guy fired hit the log my dad was hiding under!!!!!!!!!!!!!! vance

  18. As a GM retiree and on the mailing list here is part of an email I received this week. Toyota Recall Campaign - Impact on Pontiac Vibe GM has received many questions from dealers and customers about the recently announced Toyota recall campaigns for unintended acceleration. Some of the inquiries have asked about the extent to which the Pontiac Vibe, a sister vehicle to the Toyota Matrix, also may be involved. The Vibe was engineered and designed by Toyota and built by New United Motor Manufacturing (NUMMI), a joint venture between Toyota and General Motors. We want to be as open as we can about these issues so our customers can feel confident about their vehicles and about what they should do. On Jan. 27, Toyota informed GM about its intent to expand its October 2009 floor mat recall to include 2009-10 Vibe models. The Vibe models also are included in a safety recall announced Jan. 21 to correct sticking accelerator pedals. GM has not identified any incidents or customer complaints of sticking accelerator pedals on 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe vehicles. In addition, we have been informed about Toyota’s decision to issue a stop sale order to its dealerships for the affected models. GM also has issued an order to stop sale of the 2009 and 2010 Pontiac Vibe units. We don’t have all of the information that has driven Toyota’s decisions, but we intend to share more information when we can. We will communicate with affected Pontiac Vibe customers when Toyota informs us of its plan to remedy the vehicles included in the recalls so that customers can bring their vehicles to a GM dealership for repair. In the mean time, they can contact their local GM dealer or call 1-800-GM-Drive with any inquiries. vance

  20. I can cast farther with my right arm but I am more accurate with my left and I am always switch casting depending on where I am in the boat and who is around me.I haven't used a spinning rod near a much as a bait caster and one thing good about spinning reels is the ability to move the crank to either side so that switching hands is not an issue. By the way I am right handed. vance
