  3. When I used to work I had the same problem with the company servers ,which for security purposes limited idle web pages to a specific length of time and then shut down that connection. Also it wouldn't let us save login info for easy access. vance

  7. So I bought an on board charger from Hirks fishing and marine in January and hooked it up to my trolling battery and it did it's thing for 3 months and then quit. The Canadian service is in Burlington so called a few buddies-ROAD TRIP-walked into the service area explained the problem,NO PROBLEM 3 YEAR EXCHANGE WARRANTY- out the door in 10 minutes with a brand new unit :clapping: then we had time to hit every fishing place on the way back to Oshawa.I asked why it would quit and the rep said I have no Idea we have never had one of your model mk106 back for service. Thanks Hirks and Minn Kota.. vance

  10. They also do warranty on Shakespeare, johnson, mitchell, zebco, abu garcia, okuma, diawa, rapala and quantum reels they might do more but the business card I have is 4-5 years old.More than likely they can TLC anything,I had him look at my dad's pflueger reel from the 40s but he couldn't get a handle for it. vance
  11. Good work Rick but you might consider limiting the number of lines of interests that people have -some of them are half a page long which I am sure they never intended as it was never that way before.. vance
  12. So its been a whole THREE days of the new and improved site and things have changed a little every day. Some things work out and some don't and there is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion on things in general BUT it has taken the OFC 10 years to get this far why not wait a week or two for the dust to settle and then see if you are OUT OF HERE... vance
  13. The old days of building your own trailer and just going and having it registered as a home built are long gone.Things like axles and bearings and tires have to be specifically DESIGNED for trailers and before a license is issued it has to be inspected and passed as fit.All the boat trailer manufactures have small cheap trailers but as a rule no one carries them and you have to order them. vance
  14. I would phone today because Andy thought with all the people that were turning out they would be done on Wednesday. vance

  19. A friend of mine was having the same problem with his attempts at fly fishing and his wife got so sick of hearing it for his birthday she got him a full day of guided fly fishing with a REAL pro.It was then he discovered he LOVED his wife and how to catch fish with a fly rod.I am sure if you PMed some of the members on the board that do well they would take you out for some schooling. vance
  20. Well thanks to John Bacon and Andy Rubaszek the coordinator, myself,Fishy Pete and non board member Gary got to spend 5 1/2 hours clipping fins on chinook fingerlings so they can be transplanted in Lake Ont.in 2 weeks.By listening to the conversations of the people working they were members of various fishing clubs in Ontario and high school students from the Stouffville area.Even with time out for burghers on the barbie Andy estimated that our group had done THIRTY THOUSAND fingerlings which is apparently a very good number. My shoulders ache, my back is stiff, my knees are throbbing but we had a lot of fun and are going to go back and do it next year.Believe it or not New York State has a machine that will do this in a blink of an eye but how much fun would that be? 21. I know from experience that this sure sounds like loose connections mainly at the fuse panel-ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ALUMINUM WIRING.I had a similar problem and finally and had to change all the receptacles and switches in the house to cure it.If I were you I would get an electrician in to check things out,you have no idea the STUPID things that previous owners can do. vance
  22. I have both cheap and expensive gear and generally the cost is the least important thing, it is how it feels when you use it and whether it fits to the style of fishing you do.I have small hands and typically look for smaller reels that give me more control.BPS is good because they have reels mounted on handles rather than just in a box and it gives you a better indication if everything readily falls to hand.Everyone has their favorites but generally there isn't alot of difference between brands,if you are Profisherman a $50 reel might not standup but I have one that I have been using for 30 years and it works just like new. vance
  23. Talked to a few friends this afternoon and and we should be able to make it up one or two days next week during the day-the joys of being retired. vance
