  1. Yes a worth while investment for any walleye fisherman! Whopper
  2. Great report Tom looks like you had fun! Thanks for the extra inch Whopper
  3. My best guess would be the Largemouth bass record could quite possibly be broken in California, read a few articles and watched a show (name escapes me at moment) of this dude catching and releasing three LM bass over 20lbs in the last couple years. Whopper
  4. Hope ya have a great one Wayne! Happy Birthday! Phil
  5. Eddyk I have had two major purchases from the big box stores and wasn't happy with either one's install (subcontractors from the stores). Both jobs weren't done on time, as a matter of fact the one a kitchen floor install that was quoted as taking one day took over two weeks and two subcontractors later and myself finishing the job. Did the kitchen cabinet thing and hired a small shop and work was done by their own people and was quite happy with their work, but most importantly the WIFE was happy From my experience in the future I will stick to installs from the smaller guys or do it myself. 6. Heres a few pics from last year. My personal guide for the weekend I had a blast and hope to return again this year Whopper
  7. We are a little bit ahead of ya down here. No more snow or ice. Everything looks brown and nasty until it starts pushing green which won't be long! We have tulips that have statred coming up in the flower beds and some of the trees are starting to bud. Birds are chirping, all is well. Whopper
  8. Good advise Terry, but a word of caution, one still needs top use some common sense also while using a GPS unit while most are fairly acurate, don't make the same mistake that I did last summer and have funnel vision with the GPS. I was looking for a particular spot on a well known lake that has a sunken railroad track and while staring at the GPS unit I still hit the dam thing, just lucky I was at a crawl and didn't do any damage to my outdrive. 9. Correct wire size in your case is based on the load (in amperes or watts) of the downrigger motor and the distance it is from your power source. Like others have said overcurrent protection (inline fuses or circuit breaker) is a must to protect both the equipment and wiring. I prefer the miniature inline circuit breakers for convenience. Load info should be on the motor itself, if you can post that and the approximate length from your battery I can give you the wire size. Whopper
  10. WTG Dawg! I was hoping the fence would keep ya tied up a little longer so I could beat ya to a soft water report. Congrats for getting out and catching a few! Whopper PS. pikehunter don't encourage him
  11. Congrats Eddyk! Enjoy! Whopper
  12. A couple from last July at Lake Holinshead, these were taken on a magical evening after 10:00pm while fishing for walleye with my son. Whopper
  13. 3000 post! Dawg does have a way of growing on ya! Always good for a laugh, Thanks Glen Whopper
  14. Thanks TG, most of the walleyes caught that week were in depths from 10 to 25 feet. Some were gold and some were silver and black or green and black, if you notice the one pic I have blue residue on my white tshirt from a few that were caught. That pike had been harassing my buddy and bit him off twice fishing for eyes before I put the whammy on him. Wasn't a big fish but I called him and my bud couldn't believe it. Lew they could drop me off and leave me there for a whole summer and it wouldn't bother me one bit. Oh by the way this is one of the lakes that solepaddler has went through on at least one of his journeys. Whopper sorry solo you were replying while I was typing
  15. Here's a few pics on our return flight to base camp after a week of fishing at Whiteclay Lake which is northwest of Armstrong Heading into a thunderstorm at base camp, just beat the rain after off loading gear. Some pics of fish from the trip Sat and watched a cow moose and her baby feed in the water one morning Yes I have cabin fever Whopper
  16. I've been running buddy bearings on my boat trailers for close to 30years and never had one bearing problem. I've had just about every other problem that could arise from pulling a boat though but never a bearing problem. I was always taught that while installing gease in the buddy bearings was to pump grease until the spring loaded cap on the front side moves then stop. Whopper
  17. Glad to see ya had a great time and caught some fish to boot! Congrats Jamie Whopper
