  1. Hi Pete, just got my spring edition today, looks like another great read. There's a happy fella on the front, do you know him?, and on top of that your on the back cover Whopper
  2. Well folks just got mine in the mail today and jesh this thing is stuffed with more OFC'ers than you can shake a stick at. You don't have to look to far either, there's one right on the front cover Well I can see my plans for this evening are going to change. Whopper
  3. I will, like in the past, try to do my best to be a ethical angler and person. Whopper
  4. John I commend anyone that picks up other people trash, I wasn't saying we shouldn't do it, Ive done it, my point was if we keep doing it people will keep leaving it. Raising your children in the not to polute is a start, it just like everthing else we try to teach them not to lie, not to steal, not to cheat and so on. I don't think any of us here or our children are the problem. As far as the reckless drivers not all are caught that's for sure just ask Lew, but the ones that are caught are made to pay. They pay for tickets and usually if it is multiple offenses they pay higher insurance premiums. Ask around to see how many people have paid for a speeding ticket then ask if any has payed a fine for littering. To me part of the problem is it is not enforced at all. We don't need any special cops or CO's for this, the ones that are already employed could probably write all the tickets they want. Take this for an example ten years ago one could be fishing out of the boat on a summer day and endulge in a cold beer and even if he was checked as long as the person wasn't a problem there would be no problem, now just having beer (unopened) in a cooler in most boats will get you a ticket guaranteed. It was against the law then and it's against the law now, what made things change? People being stupid and abusing which led to people getting hurt and even killed. Something they do here is take some people that are serving jail time and take them out on day outings and make them pick all the trash up from the roadside. This is not a solution but just like the rest of us that pick up other people trash it helps.
  5. Guys there has to be another solution here. Good to all that are picking up after others but the problem will not go away playing other peoples mothers. The offenders must be made to be accountable for there actions is what I'm trying to say. Whopper
  6. I understand where you are coming from Lew, but why should all the good sportspersons foot the bill for the low lifes? This is just a thought, I know that provinces and states are strapped for budgets therefore upholding littering laws is a concern but in places like you have described use the cameras like they do for traffic lights to catch the law breakers and hold them accountable? Just a thought. Whopper
  7. Well I had such a good time yesterday that I went back today. It was a lot colder today but the sun was out. Kinda of weird staring at a hole in the ice not paying to much attention to what was going on around me when all of the sudden I hear sleigh bells and there getting louder :???: Turned around and watch these guys pull up to shore. This little lake is located in a metro park that has a working farm from the 1800's and they came to harvest ice the old fashion way it was kinda of neat to watch. Well after watching for a while had to get at it because I only had a couple hours to fish. Picked up right where I left off last evening. I had fun again today Whopper
  8. Glen it was about 25F with just a slight breeze, warmest it has been in two weeks Couple of the holes I drilled were 10" to 12"
  9. Went out ice fishing yesterday for the first time in just about 25 years. The weather was great with mild temps and it snowed the whole time. Set up and drilled a couple holes with no luck. No luck there so I moved and drilled acouple more holes. Ended up catching seven small bluegill, all on a glow jig tipped with a spike. Had a good time today Whopper
  10. Sorry to hear about Sheri's accident Lew, sounds like the main thing is she will be alright. Wish her well on the mend! Whopper
  11. It better not be
  12. OK snag I'll make a deal with ya I promise not to add my nickel's worth anymore if you promise not start "Mepps threads" like you did the other day. As Howey would say "DEAL OR NO DEAL" Whopper
  13. Like Jeff Gordon would say "I hate all that bumping" Quit it DouG
  14. They have tried this before with the Susan B Anthony dollar coin, didn't catch on then so I really don't know why this will work. Then we had the two dollar bill that didn't work either. Want kills me is most gas stations here won't accept a fifty dollar bill when it cost well over that to fill my truck up Just my nickels worth
  15. I'd like to see Jr win it, if he can't then Smoke.
  16. Good pics Bill!
  17. Great news! I think we all might might learn a little something from Chris. I hope things continue to get better. Whopper
  18. LOL Joey Old Smoke got more wins in a car this year than Mikey got combined in Nextel TG you are correct it was a very sad day when M. Waltrip won his first race. I was watching the truck practice at lunch time and Mikey was on saying he couldn't believe that one of his crew was caught trying to make up for a "oil problem" Man those trucks are right on the edge at 189mph three wide I will have to one thing though I just read an update and Mike isn't ducking anything and is taking full responsiblity so that's kinda of refreshing.
  19. Good Luck DrPhil, hope you do well! Castmaster I have crossed the border a ton of times and not one time can I ever recall being asked if I had been arrested. You are right about the honest part though had a few custom agents asked some of the wall question just to see my response. The passport for driving into the US from either Mexico or Canada goes into effect Jan 1 2008 as of right this moment. Air travel was manditory as this past January. This whole passport deal was the US doing and not by the Canadian or Mexican goverment. I've had a couple problems with travel to and from in the past but nothing major, biggest problem I had was coming back into the US because I didn't have a birth certificate only a driver license. Whopper
  20. If it would have been for DEI ole Mikey would have still been winless. If I'm not mistaken he held the longest wineless streak for current drivers until he won his first at Daytona.
  21. beats the nightmares I had last night about losing a digit thanks SNAG
  22. Now that might be worth the price of admission somehow this doesn't look or sound right sorry darsky didn't mean to step all over your thread
  23. This wasn't from yesterday or today but this actually happen a few years back and it's the funniest that I personally heard. I work in construction and one of the crew bowled every Weds. night and he has a girl call the answer machine and pretends to be his wife and states that GARY will not be to work today because he has the flu, now the whole time you can hear the background noise from the bowling alley and the girl must have gotten confused because she handed the phone to Gary and he thinks it already hung up and proceeds to order a round of beers for the team because he doesn't have to go to work in the morning and this goes on until the answer machine times out. Well needless to say the recording was save for Gary when he returned for work on Friday (had to get his check so he couldn't miss payday ) well by this time everyone and their brother had heard the recording so he took a pretty good ribbing for quite awhile over that one. Oh BTW I was the only one that made it to work today out of five.
  24. $238 bucks I don't think so. I'd have a hard time paying that to see Shania nakid Whopper
