  1. I had to replace the thermocoupler on my portable heater about 5 years ago. The part was about $40 and took my 5 minutes to fix. When the thermocoupler gets hot it stays in the open position, but is supposed to close when gas supply is shut off and it cools down.
  2. Monster Perch.
  3. yep. Big bobos for sure.
  4. Davey, If you buy them Friday and the store puts oxygen in the bag then you can just put the whole bag in your fridge. They will often last 3-4 days like this. Once you open the bag then you need an aerator. On the ice we drill a hole a few inches into the ice (not right through and place the open bag in the hole to keep them cold. We leave our huts on the lake so we use a Minnow Motel which goes down under the ice and lets the minnows stay alive for weeks.
  5. That's the same limits as many game fish?
  6. Ooops. Tried to Embed it.
  7. Only $1000? Pfffffft! lol
  8. Use the search feature above to the right. Propane augers have been discussed on this site last year and maybe even the year 2010-2011.
  9. Here is the accidental catch of the day.
  10. Nipissing closes to all species on Nov. 30th but Trout Lake is still fishable.
  11. We were all set up to fish the minor period which is only about an hour. Marked a ton of big fish hanging around under the bait and tried to run our lures within those bait schools. Either way a beautiful cold day on the lake with a good buddy.
  12. Hey Dan, I edited the post thanks.
  13. Congrats bud.
  14. I got a text this morning from Dan Columby asking me if I wanted to try for musky today on Nipissing? I am laid off now, so I figured why not. He said meet me at 11:30 and we will go open the launch. We drove from his house to the launch and when we parked I was suprised to see he had brought a spud bar, shovel, and several bags of sand/salt mix. We broke the ice at shore and as far out as his spud bar on a rope would reach. It was close to 1" in most places. Then I shoveled the launch and we spread 4 bags of sand/salt mix. We returned to his house to put on our floater suits and get the boat. When we returned to the launch the sand/salt had done the trick and it was bare to the pavement. Wish I had a photo of the launch before we did the work but here are the progress shots. Here is a short video of the Cheif Commanda in it's winter home. We foul hooked a cisco (lake herring) and hit 2 more (scales on hooks) but no musky on this trip. Water temps were 37-39 degrees. Air temp was -2 to -6 but sun was beautiful.
  15. Ice is already here in North Bay. Let's hope it stays.
  16. Alex, I would love to try Cooks Bay for some jumbos. I extended this offer to you before, if you ever want to come back up here and fish Nipissing I will set you up in the ice shack or in our spare room and make sure you get on/off the ice safely.
  17. Thought you built a new hut last year?
  18. Congrats to you and your wife on the birth of your son.I was kind of expecting to see a picture of you licking him
  19. Dave, It was just a joke. I am a wuss when it comes to ice fishing. I sit in my heated 8x12 hut with the radio on. Use a gas auger and drive my truck to my hut 95% of the time. Sometimes jigging is too much work.
  20. I thought you only needed a spud bar, white bucket, and 2 jigging rods?
  21. What kind of duck is that? I know it is not a mouse.
  22. You lost me at tiller and found me at Yami. Welcome aboard Chris.
  23. Pretty sure he is singing the Star Spangled Banner.
