  1. You will be alright just pushing the snow/slush back into the hole. If you are using a branch (for fishing) then leave it there. Chances are if there is a road to the lake there will already be indications of other anglers. Try close to their holes as they may (and I stress may) have a good idea where the fish are.
  2. Great vid. Bernie. I had to catch my breath and have a beer just watching that. Bernie, wasn't there a member her with the handle Kiltey Lake?
  3. The models we get are composite toe and shank as the stell is heavier and gets cold.
  4. The Titan's with composite shank and toe are the ones we use during the winter at work and I have never heard complaints of slipping.
  5. Luv that stuff Joey. It is a campfire sipper all summer.
  6. Pfffffff. Rod Caster can catch them smaller than that. If you hold it closer it looks bigger right? Nope.
  7. This is my brother's favourite and makes me laugh.
  8. Was down at the boat launch on the Lavasse River at Lake Nippising today and the brush on the other side of the river was WHITE with wind-blown snow. Anyways, my crappy 2 mega-pixel camera takes lousy pictures but these with the cat-tails in the foreground turned out great. 1st picture was from the road. 2nd picture from about 20 feet away and final picture was right in the cat-tails (bull rushes).
  9. Cheers to you and your family Rick. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Peace.
  10. X2 Randy. You beat me to it.
  11. Here is the response to MPP Vic Fideli from MNR Minister Michael Gravelle. I chose not to cut and paste the article here because it is nearly word for word the same reply as HH posted from his MPP. http://baytoday.ca/content/news/details.asp?c=50099
  12. Andrew, between here and Sturgeon Falls we must have 20 OFC members. Nice that a few of us fish together regularly too.
  13. Anyone see the fish in that picture?
  14. I still see yellow. Time for a trip to the optomotrist?
  15. Good job buddy. Needed you out there with us today. I hope to be in alot more picture with you in 2013 (if we ever make it).
  16. I see a yellow star.
  17. Thought I would revive this thread rather then posting a new one. Merry Christmas y'all.
  18. I thought this was going to be a thread about Santa.
  19. LOL......I guess we will soon see hundreds of ice bungalows on Nosbonsing, Trout, Tallon, Tilden, Wasi, Lakes etc. Bill M, Those lakes have walleye but won't last long if more anglers start fishing them.
  20. Jim C, I looked at the regs and it clearly states that posession limit is the same as daily catch limit. Not sure why I thought different but, like you, I dont see "stockpiling" as wrong. Now I am talking "me" accumulating 4-6 walleye "on my own" over a week/month period. I am not talking 20-30 walleye in the freezer. I will definately keep more perch this year and eat a few walleye in my hut or release them. If ice-fishing Nipissing becomes too much of a hassle I may switch lakes for next winter.
  21. Jim C. Let me try. This is the way I understand it and plan on fishing. I fish with my 9 year old son alot and hope I can keep our 4 fish on consectutive days.
  22. Come to North Bay. Lakes are starting to feeze good now.
  23. Good job boys. I'll be hitting that spot a couple times this week.
  24. Where are you gonna find 18" of ice by Christmas? Only the members WAYYYYYYY up North will have that.
  25. Yep, 4" is the radius of the blades, not the length of the auger. The smaller the blades (providing they are sharp) the easier it is to cut. I was given a 10" manual auger by a friend. Cut 2 holes and you are finished.
