  1. Hey Rob, looks like me, the wife and our 2 boys will be there. Registered on line but couldn't print out the confirmation e-mail. Got the release sheets though.
  2. You won't need a boat that big for Bernard. Might save some gas and see if there is a boat you can rent there. If you do bring your boat bring your down riggers. No bad spots on the lake...in fact...it is the world's largest body of fresh water without an island. Fish species in the lake include smallmouth bass, lake trout, whitefish, yellow perch and rock bass. Because Lake Bernard is large and deep, fishing is relatively poor for bass, but quite good for lake trout and whitefish.
  3. I fish with a buddy who has native status. This is the 1st year he has not purchased a fishing licence. He was concerned that the C.O.s may challenge his status (carries his card with him) if he also purchaese a licence. He does not exceed the posession limits but may keep a slot sized walleye. He hasn't yet, but it would be his choice if we had a low #s day and he caught a slot sized fish. When fishing together I keep my fish in one livewell and his in the other. That way I know I am safe.
  4. Lake Nipissing has some good Gar in her but not sure of 50"ers. Great report again Drew.
  5. Wicked Nipissing colours Johnny.
  6. Sundridge will be o.k. because of Lake Bernard. South River has access to lots of cottages and it has a BEER STORE.
  7. Sweet. We are a FORD family.
  8. That Suzuki is pretty sleek. Pairs up with the 182 excellently.
  9. Just a guess as well but My guess is average muskie for French river is probably 33 -35". High 40s and some 50s to be found but most #s would be in the 30s.
  10. Great weekend.
  11. Not sure about the bottom of the French. We have to wait until Sat to fish the upper part near Lake Nipissing.
  12. That is one heck of an offer Brian, Wish I was closer. We have wait a few more weeks for muskie opener up here.
  13. There is a nice cheap cottage on Lake Nosbonsing. It is adfvertised on kijiji North Bay. Has water access and looks pretty decent (I have seen it). Maybe too far for you to travel though? Lake Nosbonsing Cottages
  14. I liked it.....and no I'm not gay.
  15. Said it last year and never made it but I will try to make the drive for a visit, maybe camp out for the night. Randy, Rod Caster, are either of you guys interested in going for one night? I have a tent and all necessary gear.
  16. My post is a bit mixed up. I will only go aluminum because I fish rocky lakes. What I meant by performance was a bigger/smaller prop or different pitch. I will get my old one touched up and ballanced to use as a spare. Thanks for the advise but ss really isn't an option for me.
  17. I need a new prop for my 1991 Yamaha 90hp. The prop on the motor now is 12 5/8 x 21 -K. I can get a NEW replacement for $100-$150. Any suggestions on what prop I should get? My boat will run around 40 mph and that is fast enough for me. Is there any performance props I should look at? I fish some rocky areas and the prop WILL get dinged. What do y'all think?
  18. Congrats. Maybe you have a HOARDING issue with all your fishing gear?
  19. Just copy the image code and paste it right into the text of your report.
  20. Always nice to catch a PB pike. Good to get out fishing even when your skunked.
  21. You come all the way to the upper French to taget PIKE? Walleye fishing has been great so far this year.
  22. Call it Second Wife. Almost as pretty as your fisrt one Jamie Bet you it can't tell you it loves you either.
  23. Check into the Seegmiller Group of companies. They are located in Kitchener but have recently bought out several smaller companies in the North. Last year they bought the company I was working for called Bruman Construction and Leasing. This year they successfully bid on a 17 million dollar job to repair and resurface part of Hiughway 11 N around Sundridge. They will definately need machine operators. Also try Kirkland Gold Inc. in Kirkland Lake, and Au Rico Gold in Matachewan. There are tons of mines in the Kirkland Lake, Larder Lake areas and also around Timmins.
  24. X2 You can buy those cheap pin-wheels from the dollar store and stick them in the ground, they work too. My neighbor hung some shiny "chinese lantern" type thing from a wire crossing his driveway. Apparently if it is in their flight path then they will not fly there. Looked stupid but his driveway and truck were no longer getting pooped on. Also over-seed your yard. They won't eat it all and you will still end up with a nice lawn.
  25. How far North? Construction (Road) jobs or only mining?
