Humour - He swears it was an accident

I'd probably do that to Will. With Joe swearing and complaining we were such idiots! -

When I was new to fishing and this board, even though he had a way of rubbing people the wrong way at times, he was always helpful and supportive of my relentless questions. He taught me a lot about carp and steelhead. And he always replied in my threads with encouragement. Sad news. I knew his health had been failing. At least where he is now, those issues are gone. Hope your fishing your dream spot up there Steve!

That's interesting because mastercraft isn't a company and there is no place in Toronto. It's a brand...where other companies make products and put the mastercraft name on it. Lots of people do think it's a manufacturer.

Can't get my front boat lights to work
ccmtcanada replied to LostAnotherOne's topic in General Discussion
I'm sure you tried this already, but did you change the bulbs? Do you have an electrical tester to see if current is making it there? You can take the bulb out and put the leads into the socket to see if power is getting there. -
Cottage rentals for 3-4 days is tough. Since its high season, most require a minimum full week rental. Even resorts often need a full week. There may be a few out there though!

Awesome memories from Lakair for the two get togethers I attended. My first ever Muskie....meeting lots of board members....lots of laughs!!

I get the duct cleaning calls about 10 times a week. Sometimes I'll put on a Japanese accent and say "I no have duck. I have dog. He creen he self" One time I let them tell me all about their promotion and made it sound like I was interested. They asked how many square feet my home was. I said 1.2 million and 257 rooms. For some reason they hung up. My favourite was letting them do their speech and then I said I wasn't interested. But hey, I have this fridge for sale. It's 36" wide, energy star compliant and I will let it go for cheap. When they said they didn't want my fridge I asked if they wanted to buy a lawnmower. Finally he said "why are you doing this?" I said "i said no to your service but you kept pushing. I thought I'd do the same to you". Silence. Then I said "so do you want the lawnmower?" He hung up. Lol

I feel badly for his wife, kids and family. Politics aside, he was a man with a family who will miss him terribly. My condolences go out to them.

Ice melted quite a bit in a week!!

I'm am glad you got to talk to him, and sad for you as well.

I'd try talking to the manager or administrator first. Explain your situation and see where that goes. i feel badly that you have been unable to talk to your brother....and I sincerely hope you can very soon.

With all the warm temps it's looking like many lakes in Southern Ontario have begun to break up. Parts of Lake Simcoe, Rice Lake and the Tri-lakes seem to show open water. Be careful if you are brave enough to venture out!!

A quick rant about the amber alert last night... NF.
ccmtcanada replied to NAW's topic in General Discussion
I for one was impressed at the reach the amber alert accomplished! I thought it was a great use of technology to get the word out ASAP. Between that and social media, it basically went "viral" in a few short minutes. I'm glad to hear it was a false alarm....but you just never know. I'd rather they err on the side of caution when children are involved. -
A whopping 6cm down at my place in Whitby. So much for the 25cm and winter storm warning!! I'm not complaining though. Only took me ten minutes to clear the driveway! With the above freezing temps starting next week I'm hoping we can say goodbye to winter!

Well, it's official, the signs went up today NF

Cliff and Sue I have some wonderful memories of your place!! Sydney always loved going there and spending time with you. And I definitely always enjoyed your company. Whether it was to help put your dock in, going fishing or simply chatting, it'll always be a place I remember very fondly. I Completely understand why you are moving...but that lake will always be a place where I'll say "there's this great guy also named Cliff who used to have a place on this lake..." as I boat by... -
Shawn is a walleye and bass king! When I was brand new on this board he took me out for walleye and learned a TON from him! Which reminds me....we gotta get out again Shawn. Lol

When I was a kid, we went on a family vacation out west. (Around 1979). We visited Athabasca Glacier and went on one of these buses right onto the glacier. Was very cool! Funny I still remember the driver....for some reason I can still see his "Hi...my name is Hugh" sign st the front!!!

As others have stated, if you are healthy then yes, you'd save money. One major health problem and it's a different story. I see benefits more like an insurance policy and not simply and expense...its there in case of an emergency.

They are saying this weekend is likely our last cold snap. Back up to + temps the next week then the winter pattern starts to break apart and warmer weather arrives. But, since that's what they forecast, it'll be wrong. Haha.

Sounds good. All I ask is that if you get a chance to pay it forward to another member on the board to do so. Doesn't have to be anything big. This board has given me so much over the years....from advice to free stuff when I was starting out. Have fun with it!!

Haha Brian....I have a raven centerpin that I'm not using too...lol
