  1. When I was a kid, we went on a family vacation out west. (Around 1979). We visited Athabasca Glacier and went on one of these buses right onto the glacier. Was very cool! Funny I still remember the driver....for some reason I can still see his "Hi...my name is Hugh" sign st the front!!!
  2. As others have stated, if you are healthy then yes, you'd save money. One major health problem and it's a different story. I see benefits more like an insurance policy and not simply and expense...its there in case of an emergency.
  3. They are saying this weekend is likely our last cold snap. Back up to + temps the next week then the winter pattern starts to break apart and warmer weather arrives. But, since that's what they forecast, it'll be wrong. Haha.
  4. Sounds good. All I ask is that if you get a chance to pay it forward to another member on the board to do so. Doesn't have to be anything big. This board has given me so much over the years....from advice to free stuff when I was starting out. Have fun with it!!
  5. Haha Brian....I have a raven centerpin that I'm not using too...lol
  6. I have a Humminbird 581i with transducer you can have for free if you want it. It works perfectly and accepts navionics mapping. The only reason I replaced it is I got a Lowrance 7 HDI for Christmas a year ago. I'll look for the wiring and brackets for it (pretty sure it's in the garage). I remember the first tinny I got...desperately wanted a good fishfinder. You sound like you are in the same boat. (See what I did there?? Ok. Bad joke!!) Where are you located? I've run one battery in my boat for years....run my trolling motor and fishfinder off it. I just made sure not to run the transducer cable beside any power line and never had interference issues.
  7. We were supposed to get 5cm from last night til tonight. What fell last night has melted and there's nothing on the ground here in Whitby.
  8. Every laptop I've ever had for business has been a Thinkpad. Great multitasking machine and I've never had issues with them. And I'm not just saying that because I now work for Lenovo. Lol
  9. I've been an Eagles fan since I was a teenager, but never got to see them until the Hell Freezes Over tour. I was blown away at how tight they were....and their harmonies were pitch perfect. The Eagles influenced me big time....both in guitar as well as vocally, and Glenn Frey was a big part of my musical development. A true music pioneer is gone....RIP Glenn....thanks for everything.
  10. Most important question to ask first is what is your budget? Macs are amazing products, but they are quite expensive. Lots of great options if you're budget is healthy
  11. Cliff. My advice is if vista is running fine then why upgrade the operating system at all? Chances are you will never need support for that operating system if you haven't already. My worry is with an older machine, Windows 10 may bog down your system resources making it run very slowly. The always say "it'll run faster and more efficiently", but if you haven't upgraded your ram or if your processor isn't fast enough it could do more harm than good.
  12. Sam....so sorry to hear of your cancer. Keep up the good fight. We're all pulling for you! I hope PMH offers some good news!
  13. Wow Kevin! Looks like you had a fantastic year. And great job on the video editing as well! Looks professional.
  14. Roy...wonderful words! I hope you have a great new year as well!
  15. Hope everyone has a healthy and happy new year!
  16. What a great shot!!
  17. A few weeks ago, a thick fog suddenly rolled in. I went out with just my iPhone and snapped these pictures....pretty eerie feeling out there and I think the pics captured that. The pathway light and the streetlight cast some pretty cool colours in the fog.
  18. Really? Since when? Their road side assistance has always included coverage in the US....through partners down there.
  19. Sir cranks....I grew up in Ajax and I remember that truck!!
  20. That's a good deal from Costco, but unfortunately it's way out of my way to go to their gas bars. I also don't shop there regularly and the $55 annual fee means I'd have to buy a lot of gas to pay that part off.
  21. You already can create a watchlist on kijiji. All the ads you're interested in are in one place. You don't need to contact the buyer unless you want to make an offer. When the poster removes the item it disappears from the list.
  22. Oh no TJ. So sorry to hear this. Muskie knew he was loved.
  23. They already do charge more for certain times of the day. It ranges from 19 to 34 cents per km depending on when you drive on it.
  24. I've already ordered my transponder
  25. Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Commute in was great taking 401 and 404. Was door to door in 45 minutes. I'm not against the 407, just wanted to investigate other routes as well. Took 407 east after work and it took 50 minutes. Love this commute compared to my old one at Yonge and Eglinton!
