  1. Oh yeah...here's a good one. I was standing in line at a club called Stairways back in the early 90s. This guy walks up...passes everyone in line and is stopped by the bouncer. The bouncer says "Uh huh....see you later...get out of here". The guy says "Come on!! Do you know who I am????" The bouncer says "Yep...you're Eric Lindros...and you're underaged..." Eric looked at the guy and then turned around....everyone in line began cheering....and he left red faced. He wasn't signed by anyone at this time, but I believe that he was number one pick in the draft in the upcoming year. He thought he could use his "fame" to do whatever he wanted.
  2. This is my first year of ice fishing....been out twice and have caught nothing. My wife and I rented from a hut operator on Lake Scugog and we've also been out on Lake Simcoe for the Fish for Tyler Event. I know that we are beginners, but it seems that when we talk to people out on the lakes, they also say the bite has been off. Dont get me wrong...I've had fun out there , but I can only stand being skunked so many times.... I've only been on this board since this past fall, so I have no reference from previous years, but it seems that most of the reports have not been great. I've seen a few where some impressive size/numbers have been pulled out of the ice from a few reports, but overall, they haven't done a lot to make me want to invest more in hard water fishing. So...what's your year been like? What have you heard from other ice anglers? Thanks!
  3. Great report!! The pics and videos are awesome. Looks like you had a great day out there...congrats!
  4. Sweet!!! Great job...looks nice and comfy!
  5. Unfortunately, it's bye bye for good. It was up for a month or so after this one came online, then it went away. Too bad...there was tons of great info on there!
  6. YEah! I read this article today....very interesting read!
  7. Lemme think of the jingle from their radio ad...... try itravel2000.com....dial 1-866-wow-deal....and get away for less....1-866-WOW-DEAL.... The advertise that they'll even beat last minute deals from other companies....
  8. I shook hands with Joe Carter a few months after he hit THE home run that won the 1993 World Series. He was working on an endorsement with the company I work for. I walked into the waiting area and there he was....I stood there with my mouth hanging open...managed to say hi and then shook his hand. He was very friendly and called me "pal"...LOL. Met Mike Palmateer at the burger joint he opened in Ajax back in the 80's. He was one of my idol's growing up so that was a thrill. He used to show up there a few times a month to chat with the customers. Got George Bell's autograph at my grade 12 prom...haha. He was in the hotel lobby where our prom took place. The lost that night...maybe that's why he wasn't that friendly...LOL. Got Darryl Sittler, Wendel Clark and Johnny Bower's autographs at assorted trade shows I've attended. That's about it for me....

  25. Well...we had an awesome time out on Lake Simcoe today for the Fishing for Tyler event! Bly and I brought our 4 year old daughter, Sydney, with us on this day. We arrived at around 11am and headed straight out on the ice to meet up with Joey and Tybo...and a bunch of other OFNers. The wind had died down at this point and it was quite comfortable out on the ice. Here are some pics from the ice... Bly watching over our setups Here's the captain of team 9...Patb Gerritt...thanks for the venison and other goodies!!! No matter what everyone else on the board says...you're a nice guy....LOL Tybo...lost in thought. He complained he never caught anything here before. He also let me know that he'll catch all the big game fish for the tourney for our team (6). I have to catch a carp apparently...LOL. Concentrating on catching some fish!!! Fishnsled and Headhunter. My daughter, Sydney, and Joey having a nice chat and staying warm in the Clam. Sydney playing with the worms!!! At 1pm, we headed in for some grub and to meet up with other OFNers. Here's a shot of the area...with lots of hungry ice anglers! The awesome cooks!! Thanks a bunch!! BigCliff and Loonietoon Here's MrJr taking a break from the cooking station. After eating, we had the pleasure of talking with lots of members on the board. Here are few shots.... Tonyb, Carp and Joey Motv8tr, Big Chevy and Ladywalleye And here's Irishfield... After the prizes for the event were handed out, there were LOTS of draws. I think everyone took something home! Here's what we won... There were lots of others we met out there today...Clampett, Pikeie, Beans, Terry, DMasse, BPS Bassman, Tracker, and lots of others that I know I've forgotten. Sorry if I didn't mention you by name....but you know who you are...LOL. Also had a quick chat with Tyler and his mom. They thanked me for coming...but I thanked her...because we had an awesome time out there. We just wanted to say thanks Motv8tr and everyone who volunteered at this great event. We had a great day and got to meet lots of great people.
