  1. I used to work in retail...and one day we had over 50cm of snow over night. I got to the store 1/2 hour late and was the first there. Most of the employees didn't make it in. I had one guy though, who lived about 10km away. He started his drive and got stuck in the middle of the road. Did he go home? NOPE! He had a truck push him to the side of the road and the WALKED 5km in blinding snow to get there. I had to give him a raise after that...LOL.
  2. WOW!! Great haul and nice lookin eyes you got there. Hope they are tasty as they look...
  3. I planned ahead...brought some work home and the boss was ok with that. I have a 60km drive from the burbs to Toronto. On a day like this it easily would have taken me 2.5 hours to get there....and 2.5 hours to get back. I was going to take the GO train, but at 630am, they already were experiencing troubles and canceled a few trains. Just checked back now and they are still canceling trains! Glad I made the choice to stay home instead of spending about 5 hours on the road. With the day off, I checked out local rink...about a 2 min drive from home. They had a parent/tot public skate from 10 to 11 this morning, so I took my little one there. It was great! $4.50 for the hour....it was pretty much empty there....3 parents and 4 kids. She had a blast, so it was all worth it.
  4. Brought some work home yesterday, so I'll be working from here! Roads are of course a mess and GO transit reporting delays and one Lakeshore train already cancelled this morning. Not worth the hassle! Now, if I could find a nice wind sheltered place to fish....lol.

  7. Wow Lew...scary scary stuff. Even though it was a few years ago, I'm glad to hear the injuries were not too serious and that she came thru it all ok. I'd shudder while passing the spot too.
  8. Judas Priest - 1984...from the Defenders of the Faith album
  9. Beans you say? I dont think my wife would let me eat them.....LOL
  10. Clicked on the link here at work and guess what? It's been blocked!! LOL. Now i'm really interested to see what it's all about....haha.

  13. Beauty Eye there!!! Here's my wife's PB (bly on the board)...this was a 31"x20.5" 15 pounder. Here's my PB....a 32" x 19", 14.5 pounder. Both our PB's came from shore...throwing crank baits and using 8 to 10 pound mono line.
  14. Wow! Some beauties there! I'd be interested and would love to see a post on the board...maybe in the classified section if they are for sale.
  15. ACK!!!!!!!! Take the kid away from her!!!!
  16. AMEN to that HH! Funny how just when you think things are not going your way, something happens to really remind you of the true important things in life.
  17. Both of my brothers moved out west and they love it there. One is in the Edmonton area and the other in the Red Deer area. Neither of them miss the hustle and bustle of living in Toronto...love the taxes and wages. They'd never move back.
  18. Nice little pike there! My wife and I are heading up to Lakair for the OFC weekend for the first time this year. Cant wait...thanks for the pic!
  19. I would never dream of entering an empty hut when ice fishing just for convenience. In my mind that's trespassing and wouldn't appreciate it myself. I agree with everyone else though....if a storm came up and the winds started blowing, and I was disoriented out there, I wouldn't hesitate. I'd worry about potential consequences later!
  20. Good luck out there today!!! That's even colder than when we went out! Bly and I will be at the show either on Sat or Sun, so we'll look out for you. Awaiting your afternoon report.....
  21. Hey...can you get me something on your store discount??? LOL j/k. Good for you....it's great to see people helping others and then seeing the appreciation that comes along with it!
  22. Wow...unbelieveable footage! Probably pull me right in the water!! Thanks Rick.
  23. $238 ????????? Holy crap!!! Come on....I love the Police, but there's no way I'm paying those kinds of prices. I paid $100 for Eagles tickets on their Hell Freezes Over tour and thought that was excessive.
  24. Congrats on posting your first pic! Now let's see some big fish...caught in warm weather....ahh summer time....
