So...with the problems at the refinery that supplies Esso and a few other independents, has anyone had problems buying gasoline today? I heard on the radio last night that there is no need to panic...but for the next 10 days, there may be rotating supply to Esso stations. Well, this morning, I head to work....hit Bayview Avenue from the 401 down to Eglinton. The Esso had no gas, so I headed to the Shell station at Eglinton. They also had no gas because of Esso customers heading to that station. The industry is saying that if panic buying were to take hold, we could be in trouble all around finding gas. I hope it's not too bad this afternoon...I may or may not have enough to get home tonite!!!

muskieb...thanks for posting that!!! This is why I wanted to see a copy of the entire proposal (RC-07-001) in a previous post. The wording from what I read in council minutes had an actual address where this was to be implemented. I had a feeling it was just a small piece of property. Anyhow...I'm assuming that's why Rick and team were in the investigation phase. That being said...it does open the door and set precident for more of these waterfront properties to persue similar action.

I'd echo what many other have. Since most of the people I want to fish with are still with me....my family, friends and great OFC members, I'd have to narrow it down to one person.....my father. He passed away from cancer back in 1995. In the summer of 1994, he took me charter fishing out in the Bay of Quinte. He had just come off a chemo treatment and was still feeling weak, but a bit better. We had a great time out there!! I think he knew in his heart that this may be his last fishing trip. We hadn't fished together in about 12 years before he planned that trip. He passed away in Feb 2004. I'll always remember that trip. He introduced me to fishing at an early age and I have LOTS of great memories of him helping me catch pan fish off the end of a dock. I know he's up in heaven fishing every day though (and playing golf...his other passion).

I decided to do some trib fishing this year for the first time. When I was there I witnessed so much junk lying around that I decided that the next time I went, I'd have a few garbage bags in tow. It took a grand total of about 10 minutes to completely fill them and about 30 seconds to take it the garbage can that was right there. Beer cans and bottles, fishing line, coffee cups, plastic bags, fast food wrappers were strewn about. Unbelievable....

"To restrict access to this property is not correct," Howse said. "We have a piece of property that is a beautiful site ... (that) should be accessible to anybody." The other councillors agreed and amended the committee's recommendation to say, "fishing on the property is to be by permit only." The new regulation was suggested by town staff following complaints from nearby resident Graham Mitchell about trespassing, litter and property damage caused by people using the dock for fishing. Council also directed town staff to provide trash cans and to put up signs on the property warning people not to have open fires. The fishing permits will be available free of charge to town residents. Coun. Jim Collard said these measures will likely be temporary because the town is hoping the property will eventually be used for cross-river transportation. Tony and Camillj...thanks! Great info! I saw that registration was at 7am....that will be tough for us to get ther for then. We live about an hour and a half away and trying to get our teenager and 4 year old out the door by 530 will be impossible...LOL. If we arrive at say 8 or 830 is it too late to register for the day?

When you scan it, try to do it at a higher resolution....maybe 3 or 4 times the original size. Printing quality will be better and editing is easier when using large scans.

I know there is an official thread for this, but I wanted to ask some questions about the event. We are planning on heading out there for Saturday, weather permitting, and we'll have our kids with us. One is 14 and the other is 4. I wanted to ask a few things..... 1) How does it work? Do we just head out and find a spot anywhere on the lake and fish? 2) We dont have an auger....are there loaners available? 3) Are there bathrooms/porta potties available for the kids and adults? 4) If things get really cold for the kids, is there a place to take them to warm up? 5) Is bait available there? 6) If we are targeting panfish...should we bring worms...or what would work for them so our kids can have a chance at catching them. 7) Will there be anyone there to help us with potential locations? We've never been there b4, and it's a BIG lake...LOL. I'm sure I have a few more...but if anyone who has been there before can help answer some questions, it will help us be prepared for the day! Maybe there are some out there who are on the cusp of deciding to attend....answers to these questions may help them decide to participate! Hmmm...I'd continue to use the 06 regs for planning. Knowing the speed of the govt, we'll be using them all year anyways.

Wow!!! Municipal governments can be just plain silly sometimes. I'll be looking to the city website to find out some email addresses for sure...if they get away with it, then before long, many places to fish will be closed off...and it may take years for the province to clean it all up.
