  1. CANADIAN COPPER and I headed out this morning to catch some steelies. Temp was a balmy -10C with a wind chill of -18. Overall, it wasn't too bad, except when that nasty north wind would gust!! We got there at around 9am....about a foot of visibility. The first thing I saw was a fair sized carp on it's last fins...floating on it's side, desperately trying to swim away. About a half hour into fishing, I hooked into this Steelie....my personal best at 22". It was caught on roe...not just ANY roe...CC's special blend roe!!! This also the first fish with my new noodle rod that I bought at the fishing show last weekend (from Fishing World). The sign I'm holding is 11" long...but I measured it with my tape measure. It wasn't huge by any standards, but it qualifies for an OFAH award by 1 inch!! LOL. CANADIAN COOPER hooked into a real nice one about an hour later...maybe he'll post his pic when he gets some time. Anyhow, had a great time and once again, learned lots from the Steelie master!
  2. That is one cute little girl!!!! Great site you have set up for her.
  3. ROFL....this is a hilarious thread! No matter what the size was, it's still the first entry into the tourney this year...congrats!
  4. OMG!!! What an exciting report! Suspense, fish that were almost lost, great pics! Thanks for sharing!
  5. LOL.....how many times a week do you field that one?
  6. LOL...still on that are ya TJ?
  7. Hey there!! Welcome to the board. Madoc is in zone 7....so if you are fishing there, then Muskie season starts the first Saturday in June...and goes to Dec 15th.
  8. Wow...all this talk has me thinking...fishing from shore primarily, I set my drag fairly loose and then just go by feel. Not scientific at all, but so far it's worked for me with my 7 foot rod and inexpensive reel. Now...I'm testing out an 11.5 foot noodle tomorrow...completely different feel, so I expect to lose some fish before I get the hang of it!!! The only thing I know is that I'll be setting the drag loose...and then go from there. I'm pretty good at fine tune adjustments if I think it's too loose as I'm reeling it in.
  9. Snag...it's quite easy...someone said it was pigeontroller's thread, so I went to his profile and looked at his thread topics. It wasn't hard to find the right one....maybe I shouldn't tell how easy it is and let some ppl think I'm really good at this internet thing....LOL.
  10. Do you mean this pic? That was pigeontroller's thread...the link is: http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...ic=2044&hl=
  11. Wow..incredible adventure yet again! Looks like a trip of a lifetime...with your dad and uncle. It's awesome that you have these pics and stories. Thanks for sharing a little of your life with us!
  12. TJ....there has been a definite trend in the media towards this. It's all around us...that's one of the reasons I dont even listen to the radio anymore. I'll listen to 680 News down here in Toronto for traffic reports, but that's about it. I dont think you are out of line with your email to them...esp if it's been more family/educational in nature in the past. One bit of refreshing news is on the Toronto Star website. There's a section there called "Acts of Kindness". People write in explaning how people they dont even know go out of their way to help others in need. I have it bookmarked here at the office and read it every single day. If you're interested in the link...here it is.... http://www.thestar.com/ActsKindness/article/124892
  13. I dont think you were daydreaming....LOL. The site was up for a little while for viewing only...then after about a month or so it came down.
  14. Unfortunately they are all gone.
  15. Here's a video I found on youtube...showing one way to do it....look around the one minute mark... <BR><BR> <object width="320" height="240"><param name="movie" value=" name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="320" height="240"></embed></object>
  16. I'm at the office here in downtown Toronto....Cant see a thing it's snowing so hard!!! Here's a live traffic camera...Bayview and 401...taken at 8:30am.
  17. I think maybe all the C&Rs that didn't make it down here are up there....and of course all the HUGE ones that died of natural causes!!! WOO HOO!!! There must be some biguns up there!!!
  18. Hey xrap...you gotta go to this thread and read the rules and post that you're interested there. Here's the link.... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1634
  19. Wow...what an awesome thread!!! My dad taught me how to fish back in the early 70's. I have great memories of him helping me catch sunfish from a dock. Even though I had 2 brothers, I distinctively remember spending time with him...just him and I. Here's a pic when he was healthy...about 3 years before he was diagnosed with cancer.... We went on a charter fishing trip back in early summer 1994. It ws the first time we'd been fishing together in over 15 years. I think he knew this would be his last time fishing...he passed away just 7 months later. This is a picture taken on that trip....the chemo had taken a lot out of him, but we had a great day out on Quinte. I have nothing but awesome memories of my dad...and I know he's up there fishing every day!!!
  20. Oh man...Julie...we are so sorry to hear this sad news. If you need anything...watch Angelina.....talk....whatever, just let us know...you have our number. Cliff and Carole

  23. NOw that's what I call in introduction!!! I feel like I've known you for years now...lol. Great intro...looking forward to your reports this season! I can tell you've been lurking a bit...you've figured out that a picture is what we all want....haha
