  3. No need to be embarrassed! That was great Nauti!
  4. Wow...how depressing for first thing Monday morning... Oh well...I always said that if you dont like cold weather, then living in Canada isn't a good idea...LOL
  5. Done...great idea!
  6. Great deals you got there! I have enough guitars for now....an Ibanez Roadstar II series electric from the 80s, a 20 year old Yamaha acoustic and my pride and joy...a nice Fender Semi Acoustic. I used to have a 12 sting Takemine, but it wasn't practical for my style of playing...sounded SWEET, but didn't play it that much.
  7. Ditto on the Poweboxes from Canadian Tire. They are bascially bug batteries with inverters and outlets for household current. You'll use it for everything from fishing trips to camping...and for powering radio's and such during power outages. They are always on sale...so dont get one at regular price.
  8. Campet....here's one source I found on the net....all other mentions of it say Author unknown or anonymous. Nice poem none-the-less! ============================================================================ "I am a fisherman, for life. I will always be a fisherman. It's not something I do, it is who I am. Fishing is not an escape. It is where I belong, where I am supposed to be. It is not a place, but a lifelong journey. It is a passage my father showed me, and that I will show others. When you understand all of this, you will know me, and we will fish together." So reads the Abu Garcia advertisement for quality fishing tackle. The words ripple through the minds of ardent sport fishers. It's how we are. We are fishermen for life. If we were orbiting a distant planet we'd be looking for a lake with fish in it. It's what our parents taught us, and we pass it on to those we love. When you understand this, you know who we are. To read the whole passage..... http://www.strategicnetwork.org/index.php?...dly=Y&lang=
  9. Great job out there! The winds were brutal today that's for sure. Glad to hear you were in the prizes....and yes...I was a bit confused over a boat for 50th....oh well...all for a good cause
  10. Hey Scott Great job out there!! 5 tribs? Thought you were going ice fishing on Simcoe?? LOL. Bly and I went scouting to a few tribs Saturday afternoon, but didn't like what we saw...but then again, what do we know?? haha. We were thinking about it today, but family stuff got in the way...then the winds picked right up. Since we dont know the good places to go, we decided to stay at home. Serves us right..LOL Awesome pics...cant wait to get out again...oh yeah...you wanted -20....looks like you'll get that Tuesday and Wednesday...go crazy out there!!! LOL
  11. Great colours! Great fish! Great pic! Nice work out there...esp with the wind and cold.
  12. WOW!! Breathtaking...much better than my attempt back in 2003. Mind you, I was using a $150 Kodak 3.1 MP digital...only 3x optical zoom. I did adjust the exposure settings to 3 seconds or so. I accidentally used the digital zoom, so I lost some resolution. This was my attempt fro 2003...not even in the same league as yours! I loved the sunset pic...with the sillouhette of the trees.
  13. Looks like a great outing guys! Shawn...is your back paying for it today??? The only problem...I dont see any fishing equipment????
  14. Awesome report! You had a very successful day out there...thanks for the great pics too!
  15. Found a few links for you to look at..... http://auction.nhl.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/...;aunbr=80586917 http://www.grandstandsports.com/sport5.aspx?itemid=1267 The highest value I found was the second link....about $400. Good luck!
  16. I'm not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but I attempted to take pics of a lunar eclipse back in Nov 2003. I used a cheap Kodak 3.1 megapixel camera...played around with the exposure settings and came up with a few shots. Not the best shots, but without having telephoto lenses, and using the digial zoom by accident, this was the best I could do...LOL. I know that Dan will post some AMAZING shots later, but for those of you in cloudy areas, this will have to tie you over til then. haha
  17. Awesome stuff Dan! That is a great picture. Congrats on your second place finish!
  18. Very cool video! Thanks for posting it. Some pretty big ones there from what could tell. Sorry to depress you!! LOL. The pics ppl have posted there were VERY impressive...this video just adds to the anticipation for the season opener.
  19. Just checked the regs... Detroit river is in zone 1 (according to the exception list for the area), so Walleye are open all year in that area. Lucky you!!! Go Get EM!!!!

  22. Here's a few from my way...not after this last ice storm, this is from previous storms, the cold weather and spray from Lake Ontario...awesome sights. Nature can have beauty...even in it's destruction.
