  1. Sounds like the impeller vanes backwards or the water tube not connected to water pump housing.
  2. Yup! The little white sticker on mounting bracket.
  3. 12 gauge is what you want from the battery to your main fuse panel, 12 gauge is good for 20 amps so use a 20 amp fuse as close to battery as possible, You can use an automotive style(ATO) fuse. Never use a fuse higher then the wire it is supposed to protect. The Rigging Shoppe in Scarborough has proper marine wire. West Marine on Queens quay and Oakville also carry it.
  4. Seafoam or Stabil Marine, those are the only two I use in every tank of gas. It is equally(if not more)important to use stabilizer during summer because gas evaporates at a much faster rate with heat.
  5. Sounds like the battery is fully charged but you can always double check Let the battery sit for a few hours without the charger to remove any surface charge. Check with a good DC volt meter and/or with a Hydrometer (Always wear face protection and away from any combustibles. This is for Deep cycle batteries. VOLT METER...........CHARGE....................HYDROMETER 12.65v ..................100% ....................1.265 12.45v .................. 75% ....................1.225 12.24v .................. 50% ....................1.190 12.06v .................. 25% ....................1.155 11.89V .................Discharged.................1.120 Make sure the water level is above the plates, preferably about 1/4" below the neck of fill hole. You can also take it to a battery shop for a load test as mentioned above, most will test it for free .
  6. Yes I do, main motor, kicker, electronics, bilge pump and even the riggers of the same battery, but it's a 1000CCA marine starting battery. Real marine batteries are built with thicker plates and can withstand a lot more vibration and pounding on the water compare to regular car batteries. It also helps to have the kicker with an alternator to keep the batteries topped up while you troll for hours.
  7. Another vote for Cabela's Guidewear gore tex rain suite.
  8. Oh come on now! The guy was just trying to pay the property owner with some "Bio Fuel" for the parking spot...LOL It's ignorant jerks like that spoil it for every one else.
  9. Please let us know what is causing the problem, might help some one else with similar situation
  10. Have you tried swapping those 3 washers with your good rigger ?
  11. I would use marine plywood and seal it on all sides before gluing the carpet on. The other option would be composite board, but it's heavier and can get slippery with slime & frost
  12. If you have access to the other side, use stainless machine screws and lock nuts
  13. No need to save battery if your motor has an alternator, Not saying you're doing anything wrong, just easier to push a switch down without causing unnecessary wear on equipment.
  14. Others are correct, Riggers as far back as possible Planner mast as forward as possible, Think about when you get a fish on either one
  15. Kingsalmon is correct, Replace those metal washers, you can replace the bearing washer too if you wish, they are not much $$ Put a light coating of grease on the bearing washer when putting it back togather, I wouldn't use the clutch knob to lower the weight all the time
  16. Go to a CAA office and buy one from them, you'll probably pay a few $$ more but it will be CSA and UL rated.
  17. Tilt motor all the way up, remove drain plug slowly while holding a funnel of some sort with a hose attached under the drain hole, lower the motor very slowly and drain oil in a drain pan/container, remove oil filter when all the oil is drained……………………….have lots of rags handy just in case.
  18. That's pretty funny to watch people bent out of shape and line up at the pumps so they can save a couple of $$ on a full tank of gas Then they go inside and buy a 500ml bottle of water for $1.49
  19. You're correct, whities are closed till 2nd Saturday in May
  20. Sucker bellies cut in 3 to 5" strips, jigged at the bottom can be deadly for big greasers.
  21. I use snap swivels all the time when fishing with lures like crank baits and spoons, I think in all my fishing life I had a problem with just once when a snap broke on me, that is pretty good for 30+ years compare to knots IMO. I even use the them on tiny cranks/spinners for trout & steelhead. Make sure you buy quality brand name duo lock or coast lock ball bearing swivels.
  22. How did you check the fuse Lew ?
  23. Probably a blown fuse
  24. Most of the time I just tie an improved clinch or Trilene knot on braid, never had the knot slip even on muskie tackle. Polomer works great too.
