If the bearing is not seated properly (pre-loaded)the wheel might or might not show any play right away, but after a few kms on the road it will be pretty obvious, specially if you put it up on a jack. I think you,ve done a good job. don't forget to check grease after you tow for the first couple of times, feel the hubs for any sighns of over heating whenever you make a stop or just before launching your boat, a few degree above ambient temprature is ok, a very warm or hot to touch hub is a sighn of trouble.

Please read my whole message before typing your sarcastic remarks. you have to tighten them good to seat the bearings aka "Preloading The Bearings", You can then loosen it to just snug. Please read under "PRELOADING THE BEARINGS" in the link below, http://users.westco.net/~tandjlm/berring.htm

Tighten the spindle nut real good and tight all the way, give the wheel a few spins, loosen the nut(DO NOT MOVE THE WHEEL AT THIS POINT) and then tighten it back just snug, back of to the nearest cutter pin hole, insert the pin and you are good to go,

One of the best cure for seasonal allergies is to use non pasteurized LOCAL honey, eat it by itself, in milk, on porridge, just a tablespoon is all you need to take daily, it has all the local pollen and flower nectars to boost your body’s immune system. Mind you its only for seasonal allergies caused by pollen etc and it is NOT for some one with diabetes.

Another vote for Cannon, very good & strong connection. no sleeves, no crimping, no loose cable strands to poke your hands.

Go to Henry's, they will be able to give you some good professional advice, very knowledgeable staff. you don't have to buy anything from them but if you decide to, they have a price match policy as well.

I don't think you'll have any issues (if the rod is still under warranty) it depends, if you bought it from a small tackle shop, he might be able to do an over the counter exchange for you. OR you might have to send it to Pure Fishing with a check for return shipping, if I remember correctly it cost me just over $20 last time I did it. give them a call first and get an OK for warranty. Suggestions Wanted for a Baitcast Reel
NANUK replied to BillsTheBassMan's topic in General Discussion
If you're new to baitcasting, my advice is to buy the best you can, cheaper reels have inferior cast controls, brakes and drags, they will just frustrate you and you will be picking up your spinning outfit again. don't get fooled by flashy chrome bling bling and the number of ball bearings because number of bearings don't always reflect the quality of a reel, stick with proven winners like Daiwa, Shimano etc, Personally I think Daiwa's MagForce Z is the best cast control(anti backlash) syestem, on higher end, Daiwa Zillion is a very good quality reel, Shimano Curado would be my 2nd choice, if you're on a budget look at Team Daiwa Advantage 153 HSTA (Super Tuned)it also has MagForceZ anti backlash control. -
Anyone use a Fenwick HMX Triggerstik Muskie rod??
NANUK replied to freshjive's topic in General Discussion
I agree with above, Fenwick used to make good rods, their newer rods have very high contant of graphite and feel very light and sensitive in your hand but are very brittle and break easy, I know their lifetime warranty is still one of the best(on higher end rods) but you won't get that with HMX, I am sure you can get a St.Croix Premier for more or less the same price range. -
The perfact braid IMO is Daiwa's Samuri, BUT it also cost twice as much compare to Power Pro.

I have a Minn kota PD with a co pilot, I like the fact that I can use the wireless remote from anywhere in the boat to operate my TM or have the choice to use the foot padel with 20' cord(also from anywhere in the boat) in case I run out of batteries or something goes wrong with my wireless remote. MotorGuide wireless does not give you that choice.

Seems like varnish issue, try a shock treatment with Seafoam.

Your old prop was 13" dia x 19 degree pitch, the new prop is 13.5" dia x 17 degree pitch, as a rule of thumb, for every one degree of less pich you will gain approx 200 RPM, with the new set up you'll probably gain 200/300 RPM (because the new prop has 1/2" larger diameter). important thing to remember is NOT to acceed recommened engine RPM at WOT,

We have 2 Honda vehicles in our family for the last 5 years, not a single problem whatsoever! I am sold on Honda!

Heat exchanger is cracked? I understand its under warranty but are you paying for labour? a cracked heat exchanger should not stop ignition, furnace should still fire but you WILL get carbonmonoxide in the house. ask him to physically show you where the heat exchanger is broken. hard to say without actually checking but I have a feeling that is NOT the problem. flashing code should be on a sticker, either inside cover/pannel(fan section) or stuck somewhere around the electrical section of the furnace. Contact RUUD : http://www.ruud.com/Products/Heating_and_C...g/gas_furnaces/ You will need the model and serial numbers of the actual furnace not the outside AC unit.

Ditto here Lew. I smoked for well over 20 years and now am smoke free for 8 years, I used to have cravings for about 2 years after I quit but Now the smell makes me want to puke, so no smoking in my house or vehicle. That has Nothing to do with sense of pride or being a reformed smoker. I didn't have the heart to tell my buddies about not smoking in my boat BUT I think that is going to change in 2010.

I go every year, not because I want to buy a new boat, I just love drooling over them, besides, its winter and I am not much of an icefisher, so 'll be going tomorrow.

Crossing from the States into Canada Question
NANUK replied to moparhawk's topic in General Discussion
seems like FisherMike has the 1st hand experience, I have heard the same from others as well, As Radnine mentioned, Speak to proper authorities for an answer you can bank on, I am sure we all mean well here but what some of us might think SHOULD, WOULD or COULD happen is not necessarily the law and might land you in more trouble, I don't know if it has been posted but here it is for some common FAQs http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/conviction.asp, http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g153339-...onvictions.html All the best. BTW, Here in Canada an Impaired driving charge is a serious criminal offence, so as far as a Canadian with criminal record entering the US? a pardon is not good enough, you need a US Entry Waiver. -
I use Mobil-1 full synthetic in my outboards, truck, snowblower, lawnmower etc. They all start & run better (specially in cold temps) and the plugs are always cleaner compare to dino oil.

I have bought tons of stuff from Joss @ Angling Outfitters, always had the right product, great service and fair price. BUT the #1 reason I buy from him is because of his A1 customer service!! I live in Scarborough and usually just call him for whatever I need, give him my VISA # over the phone and I receive everything via Canada Post as axpected. he doesn't even charge me extra for shipping on most small items. I never heard any one complain about him either. So to answer your question: I do belive he is an honest person. Not arguing with your experience but I find it hard to believe that he would ship a broken or defective item. it could be damaged in shipping Give him a call and I am sure he will resolve your isue, he is the largest (volume) Lowrance dealer in Ontario.

what's your favourite oil and grease for your reels
NANUK replied to jamisteel's topic in General Discussion
Electical contact cleaner for removing old grease, oil, dirt & grime, Superlube oil spray or Superlube synthetic grease for lubrication of all reel parts.
