  1. Fish Farmer the Elite 5 comes in a "Gold" package.. just means it is bundled with a Navionics chip. It came with the Great Lakes chip but the guys at radioworld said they would have swapped it for a different one if I wanted. The gold bundle is cheaper than if you were to buy the unit and chip separately. You can buy the Elite 5 without the chip in a non-"Gold" bundle for le$$. I am sure there is a rudimentary map loaded on the unit but don't expect any great detail.
  2. It's a Lowrance, it'll be good. I picked up this model at the spring show but haven't ran it yet. It does come with a navionics chip, the data is not pre-loaded.
  3. i use webnames.ca for the domain but my hosting is south of the border -- better price.
  4. Meat is comparable at reg price vs reg price, maybe slightly more at costco. I'll pay a slight premium for their steaks. Stuff like chicken is often times cheaper at the supermarket since it's sale priced fairly often.
  5. definately know your prices -- there's deals and there's not-so-deals. stick to the stuff they have in the edges of the aisles on 'sale' and you'll do ok. quality of meat is excellent. if you drink bottled water, kirkland brand is the best deal going.
  6. I'm going tomorrow. In the market for a new Lowrance, hopefully there's a deal to be found. Was radioworld a vendor?
  7. no it's boston's pick meaning it'll be nearly a 2nd rounder.
  8. look into okuma's line of muskie rods, although i still prefer st. croix, they're solid rods at a discount compared to shimano / st croix.

  10. they are awd not true 4x4.
  11. full console would be nice in late nov and dec but the rest of the year, i like my tiller!
  12. chin up.. went through a similar experience (13 years) in the summer/fall. took me a few months but i found something. sometimes it's easier to find a job when you already have a job and it won't hurt anything to take something for a little less while you keep looking. job loyalty goes both ways but unfortunately is seemihgly more a thing of the past. our employers cannot/wont keep their end of the bargain, no reason for you to -- gotta lookout for #1.
  13. cliff notes?
  14. i'd like to thank all the people who are afraid of snow and stayed off the roads today. made it in to work in record time.
  15. never mind NW ontario, the people one hour north, in barrie are laughing at us. let me know when we get a storm.
  16. ltx's are great if y0u never leave the pavement
  17. Haha but unless they are duratracs they'd be better off recycled into condoms.
  18. Cooper's aren't too bad. Firestone Destination are an excellent tire for the price if I may make a recommendation. I run the All Terrain version and I paid quite a bit less than 180/tire for my Jeep. They rate as good or better than the Bridgestone Dueler ATs. Check their ratings out on tirerack.com. There's a less agressive Long Trail, LE, highway or all season version too
  19. life's more fun sideways misfish
  20. have you snow packed in your wheels?
  21. ..i dont think i've ever bought new and don't think i ever will. just about the worst investment out there. i let you guys finance, pay interest and take the depreciation hit.. cash wins.
  22. "they" always say go with the biggest you can afford. the 70lb thrust and "they" are probably right. however, I will say that the 12v 55lb PowerDrive 2 on my 15' mirrocraft 40hp tiller motors it along just fine with good battery life -- and I only have have one battery to worry about charging and taking up space on the boat.
  23. wut? say all you want about domestic vehicles but not too many touch their trucks. especially not these little poop boxes.
  24. money is for nothing and the chicks for free irish
