  1. i put these led lights from PA on my trailer this year. too early to tell long term durability but so far so good.
  2. there's 100 lifetimes of fishn from macgregor down to where you are.. just sayin'
  3. you live on the best "quality" in the world, everything else is just "quantity".
  4. have you tried buffing that out?
  5. erratic is good bang bang bang vamanos vamanos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx6FV2qR2TY
  6. ahh classic symptoms of a napoleon complex.
  7. i can't believe a fan of the sens has any room to talk schlitz about the leafs. face it, your team chokes, has done nothing EVER and worst of all, resides 450 kms outside the center of the universe.
  8. I understand that, my point is it's still not as widespread as on the big lake.
  9. This topic is not amount Nip or even the Upper French. The OP was talking about the river below the dams. To the best of my knowledge there is only one area where netting takes place and it only occurs during the early spring.
  10. It was fun Mike! Too bad the winds didn't really let us venture to other parts of the lake but that area is good in the fall.
  11. what you were seeing is turnover. with water levels being what they were this year, you had to adapt or catch nothing. i did fine. sure, netting is a great scapegoat but it's altogether false -- makes a great excuse though. if anything, the fishing has improved with the slots in the last decade.
  12. Hold on to that X-15 Connie, it's a great unit. We've run it on JPs boat for years -- it has now been moved up to the bow but it still works great. Dibs after Phil..
  13. I think you'll find most people happy with whatever brand they own. That's a good thing, means they're all pretty good - buy the one you get the best deal on and can service without hassle near you. Until you start moving up to bigger motors (25-30+), I'd be looking at a 2 stroke if I were you. 1) It'll be cheaper, 2) It'll be lighter - might be a big deal on a 12'. Modern 2 strokes are pretty darn efficient and clean, the difference between one and a 4-str will be negligable in that size.
  14. you must be hard on the skinny pedal cityfisher, i get around 11-11.5 on the hwy with my v8 if i keep at 115 or under.
  15. Powertrains will be rock-solid. they did away with the 4.0L I6 in 2005 & replaced with a 3.7 V6 which IMO would be a dog in that chassis. In other words, get the V8. I am more familiar with the 99-04. The Limited models (top of the line) came with an automatic climate control system, it is about the only common source of failure on these vehicles. The blend-doors that control cold/warm air entering the cabin will break at some point and the proper way to fix it is to pull the entire dash which is probably an 8 hour job -- there are hacks that will let you fix it by cutting plastic behind the glove box in order to gain access to replace them but they are just that, hacks. You can avoid this issue by buying a Laredo model with manual HVAC. http://wjjeeps.com is a great source of info for the 99-04 http://wkjeeps.com for 05-10
  16. Phil, they stopped building regular Cherokees in 2001. They replaced it with the chick mobile called the Liberty. They still make the Grand Cherokees though. Generations are ???-1998, 1999-2004, 2005-2010, 2011+ Rod Caster, Chrysler is not going anywhere. The old 4.0 is bulletproof and the 4.7 has an excellent reputation as well.
  17. I would suggest a Jeep. My old Cherokee currently has 400,000 on the clock and still tickin' with only a power steering pump failure in the 5+ years I've owned it and, my newer Grand Cherokee is all kinds of awesome.
  18. i bet moemoe will never leave the dock without a camera again.
  19. congrats on the catches, nice done. to gbfisher's point; the minimum size on gbay is 54", hence having it in your livewell (thus in your possession) would have been illegal.
  20. when you register the boat in your name at service canada, you pay nothing. apparently, you may or may not get a letter in the mail asking to pay the tax on the boat at some point in the future. you pay tax on the trailer at the MTO when you register it and plate it. so get a separate receipt for the trailer.
  21. stay in the middle and you'll be fine. if you don't know, go slow.
  22. yes disconnect them. will prevent the bulbs in the trailer from blowing out typically, trailers are wired to your rear tailights - so that fuse.
  23. well, I got a real good deal on a Grand Cherokee... with a v8. Mileage wise, the I6 4.0L and V8 4.7L are really just about the same. 15/20 for the I6, 14/20 cty/hwy for the V8. That ole 4.0L is a bulletproof motor (my current XJ has 400,000 on the clock) but not terribly efficient. I did the math and if I did strictly city driving, it's a difference of roughly $5 every 1000kms. It'll take a lot of miles before the extra fuel cost adds up to what I've seen other vehicles cost. And yes, it's a Jeep thing. I looked at other vehicles but in the end, the heeps have everything I am looking for.
  24. why else would you be concerned with distance while trolling but presentation and depth?
  25. or switch lures or want to run a different depth.
