sounds like there's more walleye for them to eat anyway, Lew.

Toronto is and has been for a long time one of the richest if not the richest NHL franchises. Ticket sales, merchandising, etc etc etc they are a hot commodity whether they stink or not.

Fair enough Bill -- for the 5% of cases.. most people I think, fish well within cell/wifi/fm antenna range. if you're out of cell range, you're propably out of range of any radio stations too. I stream media on my phone when out & about from my media server at home LOL. If I really wanted to, the same media server could serve up fm/am.
-
bill, they have radio on the internets now.

The water temp is likely comfortable for them from top to bottom. Lakers are opportunistic feeders and i would key in on what they are feeding on / what is emerging in the area that you are fishing and base it on that. ie. if they're eating bugs, they'll be shallow, if you see a lot of bait fish deep, fish deep.

I've often wondered the same Dan. Must be cost. No buddies on mine, I do them yearly.

these guys are out in rush hour. i commute to mississauga on these rural roads north of town with nary a shoulder. insane & it make no sense why they'd be out there at peak times. off peak and wknd have at 'er.

leader material as well. i use 10, 50 and 150 lb seaguar i havent found much use for fluoro line.

there are a whole lot of posts on the hull truth re: chirp that i've been trying to wrap my head around but i've not had the time (or perhaps brainpower) to disseminate. it's a saltwater crowd there, fishing far greater than depths that we do here, so it is a little bit apples and oranges. i too am trying to figure out if the tech is a great advantage for us in freshwater.

That is good to hear.

for the summer the canadian tire/princess auto boat covers are more than adequate. they should be going on sale soon if not already for the winter, when I kept mine outside, i build an a-frame out of 2/4s & 1/2s and cover with a tarp. tarp is usually good for 2 seasons before it needs replacement.
-
they should have put a 6 speed in there or changed the diffs to 3.23s or so instead of the 3.73s. but then people would complain that it downshifts too much -- ever notice yours rarely downshifts on the hwy? its because we're right at the torque sweet spot at around 100-110 i think. i'm considering taller tires as well but i don't think there's that much room without a lift other than going to 255/65s or 245/70s (about +1" diameter) i think the net effect would 'only' be about 100 rpms at 2000? btw, if you're doing 2800 rpms, you are moving well above the limit LOL. i generally keep mine at 110 on the 400 series and about 100-105 when towing. ya i'm the slow guy.

purdy fish!

10 dollar cutters wont work unless you get the giant two handed operations which wont work very well when you're alone in the boat. knipex are the best out there.
-
it's not mandatory. it does protect you in case of theft or damage to someone else or their property.

impossible to answer without giving some criteria. for sports car, without a 100k+ price tag, i'd take a c7 vette but it don't tow very well. for suv, that's easy -- new grand cherokee diesel with all the fixins. but my last 3 vehicles were Jeeps so consider the source. for a truck, propably the ram diesel. a tesla would be pretty sweet too!
-
nothing fancy, usually pretty muddy -- my diesel

you're going to want a long leader trolling shield water too, especially if you're a shoal grinder. 3-4'. nothing wrong with wire either.
-
what rod do you plan on running them on? offshores are great and come in different sizes. if you're not running a 'planer board' rod but instead just using regular rod you might want to look at the church or smaller offshores i think. i run a church board on a 8'6" 'steelhead' spinning rod and it's a good combo that doesn't overpower the rod.

the max cpp + oas is somewhere around 1500-1600 unless there's a disability? pls correct me if i am wrong. my understanding of the ontario pension plan as its currently proposed is its a sort of forced rrsp.. you contribute 1.9% of your first 90k and your employer matches. those contributions are invested in who-knows-what by a third party i've not really fully digested it all and dont have an opinion one way or another on it yet. i've been a good little saver all my life and a part of me says i'd rather keep my 1.9% and control it myself.
