  1. Welcome sparkmarker. Never fished Salerno Lake, but congrats on the cottage purchase.
  2. Very special moment BB. Congrats to your son and his proud parents.
  3. Sweet report Dana. I wonder if the wolves are being forced from their home range because of the forest fire & smoke ? This could be why you're seeing them in daylight hours. I'd definitely be looking around at every cast. Wolves usually stay clear of humans, but a hungry pack can bring down a 1000 lb.moose, so imagine how quickly they can make a meal out of you ! Be careful !!!
  4. I had a 2007 Ford Escape 4x4, 6 cyl. for four years. (lease) Rated for 3500 lbs. towing capacity. It towed our 16 foot Legend with no problem. Even towed my 5 1/2 x 10 hd utility trailer with 8 x 8 heavy ice hut strapped to it. No issues. Recently bought a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 with 3.0 litre, 6 cyl. Mercedes diesel engine. 7400 lbs. towing capacity. 2007 & 2008 are the only years they put this engine in the Grand Cherokees. Towed my friends' 16 ft. Sylvan with 60 hp Merc. a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes I forgot the boat was even back there. This vehicle is great, but unfortunately, the resale price on these trucks is very high. 2005 and 2006 the Jeep Liberty came with a 2.8 litre 4 cyl. diesel and are much more affordable. Might be something to consider.
  5. Very nice fish and the scenery up that way is spectacular. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Alligators in Brampton, Bears in Burlington, Milton and Newmarket. Deer running around on the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto. Wildlife reclaiming their land. I love it ! What's next ? Godzilla rising from the depths of Lake Ontario and terrorizing the GTA ? I'll bet there are quite a few city folks who supported banning the spring bear hunt that are rethinking their decision.
  7. Excellent day on the water Will. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Sweet report and pics. Thanks for sharing.
  9. You live in a wonderful place Lew. I'd love to be in a place like that, but my wife is too attached to city life and my kids are comfortable here too. Maybe one day when the kids are finished school ................
  10. $1.00 per ten worms. Don't think you'll find cheaper without picking them yourself.
  11. Last minute decision to fish Rice Lake for the wally opener. Bought some at the bait store on Jane St. in Toronto, just south of 401. $5 for 2 dozen.
  12. Fly rod might be a good choice for catching those surface feeders, but if they're herring, there's no open season, so targeting them could get you in some doo doo !
  13. Great report and pics. I'd be happy to catch any of those beauties.
  14. WOW !!! That's a sweet report. Congrats to you and Paul on a great day. If it wasn't for a late night with friends, I would have been there too Brian.
  15. That was funny Brian. Thanks !
  16. Thanks for sharing Justin. The pics are great !
  17. Good day for sure Dutch. I was also on Rice Lake yesterday. Our numbers weren't as good as yours, but I still had 4 slot fish for the table & released some.
  18. Not sure if I want a bear close enough to use a spray on it ?
  19. Some nice slabs. Great report and pics. I haven't had crappy meal in a long time. Very jealous !!!
  20. I like just about anything cooked over an open campfire, but steaks are always tops.
  21. Carp

    Report!

    SWEET REPORT !!!
  22. Some great info. Thanks for all your replies. Stopped in to talk to the guys at Krown in Streetsville. (closest to home) Watched one vehicle being treated and after a short conversation with the owner, my truck was next to go on the hoist. Told my wife I got the truck sprayed. Got home and parked on the street so I don't get any dripping oil on my asphalt driveway. Wife went to pick up daughter and parked in driveway when she returned. DOH !!! Other than the oil stains on the driveway (our fault), I'm happy with the Krown treatment.
