  1. How did they even know that fish was stuck down there ??? Good job of getting it free though.
  2. I would think your best bet for selection, price and close proximity would be Bass Pro Shops in Vaughan, Le Baron in Mississauga or Fishing Plus in west end Toronto.. All can be reached by public transit from your location.
  3. The location has changed but I'm not sure where they are now.
  4. I'll be happy just to find time to get out fishing with the kids. Anything that decides to entertain us by taking our bait is a bonus.
  5. I have a few " $2.00 off adult admission " coupons that were in some newspaper ads and OOD magazine. Anyone know if the $2.00 coupons are good after 5pm ???
  6. I'm all for jail time. Obviously the fines aren't enough to stop this individual.
  7. I have no desire to sit on a beach for a week, let alone have to pay thousands of dollars for it. Last time I did it was on my honeymoon 15 years ago. I wanted to go to Banff, she wanted the Caribbean. I ended up in Barbados for a week. Damn !!! Spent as little time as I could on the beach. I managed to go out on a fishing charter one morning, but the fishing was terrible. Ocean was very rough that day. Only 1 Wahoo among 4 anglers. Did some snorkeling at the resort and walking around the area. The food at the resort was great. Arrived home 10 to 12 pounds heavier. Still haven't lost it. I've lived in Canada for all my life and have only seen a fraction of this beautiful country. Looking forward to visiting both the east and west coasts at some point and doing some fishing, hunting and sightseeing. Lots to see in-between too.
  8. I don't mind winter. Can't stand extreme heat. 20 degrees celcius is fine. 30 is a nightmare !!!
  9. If anyone bounces a cheque, I'll bounce them !!! Oooops ! Did I say that out loud ?
  10. Welcome to the OFC Community Sean. Enjoy !!!
  11. Another vote for the Escape. I had a 2007, 3.0 litre 4x4. 3500 lbs. towing capacity. Don't think I ever towed anything over 2500 lbs., but it was stable and had plenty of power. The Escape was great, but my lease expired a couple of months ago and I turned it in. Leased a new VW Jetta with 2.0 litre turbo diesel. More torque than the 2011 Escapes and the lease is cheaper. Almost double the fuel economy too. I'll be getting a hitch installed for sure. I only miss the 4 wheel drive. Love the fuel savings. Good luck !
  12. Very nice truck Wayne. If I was in the market for another pick up truck, Ford would definitely be at the top of the list.
  13. Interesting you mentioned Egypt Cudz. I have an Egyptian friend who has been in Canada for about 2 years now. He told me they put little value on a human life there. Here's what he told me about traffic laws in Egypt: It's the pedestrians responsibility to make sure the road is clear before crossing. Not the driver's responsibility to watch for pedestrians. They have enough going on. If you hit someone with your car, it's best to kill them, rather than injure. - Fine for killing a pedestrian with your vehicle is approx. $3. Canadian. - Fine for seriously injuring a pedestrian (permanently crippled ) with your vehicle is approx. $3. Canadian + an extra dollar or two. Might have to cough up a chicken or goat as well. - Fine for less serious injuries to a pedestrian is $0.00 (cuts, brusies, broken bones, etc.) It's their own fault for not paying attention. Reason the fine is higher if they survive and can't work due to injuries, the family has extra expenses to look after them.
  14. LOL !!! Yup ! Looks like a giant grow op.
  15. I actually had to drive into the facility once (work related) at 407 & regional road 25. I can't remember the exact terminology used to describe the buildings, but it sounded like "biosphere" or "biodome". One of those "BIO" things !!!
  16. My dad, uncle and cousin caught and released 55 herring one day last winter. They could have caught more, but the lines were constantly up and down with perch as well.
  17. A hand fought pb. Excellent !!! These are the stories we want to hear, ice or not.
  18. A short day on the water, but at least you got out there. Fine looking bow for your efforts.
  19. Happy New Year Kelvin. All the best for 2011.
  20. Welcome to our OFC Community Weatherman. Not saying this is definitely the issue, but I had a similar problem and it was a lack of fuel. Fuel pick up hose inside the tank had cracked right at the top. I guess sitting for prolonged periods, it had dried up a bit and when I ran the boat, the wave action moved it around until it finally cracked. Motor ran fine on a full tank, but once the tank was only 3/4 full, had a hard time getting the motor to stay running. Pulled the fuel pick up assembly & fuel gauge off the tank (4 screws). Took the old line with me to Canadian Tire. Bought same size fuel line for a few dollars and cut a piece to replace the old one. Put it back together. Problem solved. You can try adding rubber 'O' rings to either end of your fuel hose (tank and motor end) to make a tight seal to eliminate any possibility of an air leak at those points. Fixed an air leak on another outboard motor this way. A repair shop should/would have checked for this, but just in case................................... Good luck !
  21. Typical government Bull! No worries. Rant away !
  22. Nice looking set up. Good idea with the folding beds.
