Congrats on your first.

Doesn't really matter who blasts the Taliban, as long as they keep blasting. Kinda cool to think aliens have been watching the whole terrorist issue and decided to help out, but there's probably a more logical explanation.

Reminds me of the incident in Newmarket a few years ago where a black bear was spotted walking through peoples yards. The same anti hunters who supported the spring bear hunt ban, were now pleading with law enforcement and MNR to get rid of the bear because it was a danger to their pets and children. Aren't these the same people who say bears are cute and cuddly and we should learn to live with them ? IDIOTS !!! We had a great bear population control system in place. It generated millions $$$ to the economy. The bear population was stable for years. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, KEEP YER BEAK SHUT ! Very unfortunate incident.

Ooops ! A day behind schedule, but hope it was a super day for you Will. Happy Birthday ! Cheers !!!

Population is aging, so it would make sense from a government perspective to get something out of the seniors instead of one day having a large population of senior anglers getting a free ride. Sometimes life doesn't go as planned. Sometimes it just plain BITES !!!

I'll take the french maid too, but I don't have a cottage. I'd like to have one. Does that count ?

I have the same Cooey .22, although mine is not in as nice. A bit of surface rust on the metal. One of these days I'll have to shine it up for the kids. Good luck !

Good for the MNR for changing with the times.

Should be lots of places around your area. I remember the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters had a page on their website to help hunters and land owners hook up. Pretty sure they removed the page from their site now, but I do remember a few farmers in the Niagara region looking for hunters to thin out an over population of coyotes. Check with any farmers that have livestock. Good luck !

You'll have a bit of difficulty finding a place at that time of year for a weekend. June would definitely be easier than July. Check here: http://getnorth.com/ Also: http://www.cottageconnections.ca/ Also check Kijiji or other similar sites for cottage or vacation rentals in the area(s) that interest you. Lots of private rentals advertised here. I would not mention anything about a bachelor party. Those words send up red flags and you'll have even more difficulty finding a place. This is simply a group of anglers looking to get away for a few days. Have a good time and maybe even catch a few fish, but be respectful of the property and leave it as you found it....or better ! Good luck !!!

Just saw this thread and being a lifetime Leaf fan, thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. I really liked what I saw from the Leafs last season. They came within a whisker of knocking the Bruins out of the playoffs. I think this season the team is stronger. They're young, fast and exiting to watch. The end !

I bought a Ryobi chainsaw at Princess Auto couple of years ago. It has a 20 inch blade and 46cc gas engine. I haven't used it much, but when I do, it starts and runs great. Lots of power. Just checked and they still sell it. It's only $169.99.

I have a pair of Hugo Boss sunglasses that I paid about $440 for. (Paid extra to get polarized lenses) The screws for the ear stems keep getting loose or falling out, so I found a new use for them. Keeping dust off the top left corner of my fridge. I have about 7 or 8 pairs of cheap plastic sunglasses from Princess Auto. $1.99 each. $1.00 when on sale. They work as good as some $20 and $30 sunglasses I've had and if I break or lose a pair, no panic, no tears, no cursing. I simply grab another pair I have in the car, boat or house and go on with my day. I would like to fix and use the Hugo Boss polarized sunglasses, but no hurry, no worries. I know where to find them.

For Those who Missed it!!! The Airshow NF **UPDATED**
Carp replied to Joey's topic in General Discussion
Great shots Joey ! I was down there with the kids today, but not a great view from our location. Parking was crazy as we showed up a little late. Usually we get there 1 hour or more before show time for a good spot. Thanks for sharing. -
Bought the 2008 Grand Cherokee Diesel about 1 1/2 years ago. Had a problem with the air intake hose leaking oil onto the actuator motor and frying it. (Coming from crankcase vent hose connected to air intake) Fault the person who last took it off and didn't put it on properly. The motor becomes very sluggish and limits power output. ( I assume as a safety measure) Chrysler wanted to drop the entire engine to fix it at a cost of several thousand $$$. An independant shop wanted $1500. After searching for a solution online, I discovered several people who have dealt with the same issue. The fix: a $ 0.25 resistor you can buy at most electronics shops. Yes, I said twenty five cents. You disconect the electrical plug for the actuator, slip the resistor's pins into the plug and computer thinks the actuator is still working fine. Motor runs like normal again. Been driving like this for over a year with no problems. Apparently, the actuator isn't really needed. Oil changes are very expensive through Chrysler. I think I paid $226. for the first oil change. Canadian Tire does not sell this oil. Using any oil without the correct spec could damage the diesel particulate filter at a cost of about $3000. (although, I know some people have removed the DPF and tweaked the computer which allows them to use cheaper diesel engine oil) The oil is very specialized 229.5 spec (not 229.51) low sulfur oil and not easily found in Canada. About $16/litre at the dealer. The engine takes about 9.5 litres, so $160+ tax just for the oil. Oil changes are recommended every 10,000 km for this clean burning 3.0 litre diesel. Solution: I bought a Mity Vac. A large cylinder with manual pump that's specifically made for stuff like oil changes. Found the oil for a cheap price through an independent auto parts shop. $30 for a 5 litre jug compared to $16 for 1 litre. Picked up an oil filter for about $14 and did the next oil change myself. The oil filter is at the top of the engine, so very easy to change. All I had to do was buy the specialty socket to loosen the cap. $27 at the same local tool shop where I found the Mity Vac. If I'm not mistaken, Princess Auto carries them (or similar product) and probably cheaper than what I paid. Everything went so well with this oil change, I did the same thing on my 2011 diesel Jetta. Paid over $100 at the dealer the last time I took it in. Only takes 5 litres though. Again, oil filter is on top of the engine. Takes the same MB229.5 (VW507) oil, so I bought a dozen 5 litre jugs for future oil changes. Had to buy another large socket to get the cap off the housing to access the oil filter. ($15) The money I saved on these two oil changes was more than enough to pay for all the tools I bought. Oil changes are recommended every 15,000 km on the Jetta's 2.0 litre clean burning diesel engine. Would I buy the Grand Cherokee with Mercedes 3.0 litre diesel engine a second time? Absolutely !!! Truck is rated to tow up to 7400lbs. My boat and trailer probably weigh 2500 lbs, so not an issue. Towed my utility trailer with a full load of firewood (approx. 3500- 4000 lbs.) without any problem. Engine is strong, fuel efficient and it's cheaper to fill the tank with diesel. (todays prices) Hope this helps !

CONGRATS !!! Quite a catch for your first ski. When you least expect it .................POW !

How can anyone say this is not a hate crime ? If other groups were targeted for extermination, I'm sure something would be done quickly to expose the people or person responsible and see them put behind bars. It's the haters that need to be exterminated !

Unfortunately, these punks make it harder for all of us who are responsible, law abiding firearms owners. The law makers can't control illegal guns, so they target us and tell the voting public they've tackled the gun crime problems. IDIOTS !!!
