  1. Easy to see where this thread is going. This isn't an either or scenario. You come across as having a major chip on your shoulder and a great deal of resentment towards non Canadians. You manage to work it into countless threads. Obviously the woman should not be recovering in a homeless shelter but that's completely its own issue.
  2. That's pretty terrible. I don't see a dog like that having any place in a home that's got young kids or a baby in it. Your in a tough spot though. I just don't see how you could ever really trust that dog again.
  3. Why not just a run of the mill fibreglass cap? Easy to find used, light, inexpensive and mobile. Don't like it and you can probably sell it for what you paid for it.. Throw a futon back there and your golden. Leaves you cash for a nice dining tent and chairs, etc, etc. And you can still tow the boat.
  4. Dude, I feel for you. I can almost guarantee that if I were in your shoes I too would have also found a way to break something. Hope it's not too bad.
  5. Free speech is a two way street. You say something controversial people have every right to call you on it.
  6. Agree with BillM. Feels strange....
  7. I know Cliff is a straight up guy and not one to sue to try and make a buck but for me I chalk this kind of stuff up to accidents happen. .People slip in the winter, floors get wet. I don't really see anyone being liable. You take your chances and hope for the best when you venture out into the world. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Could of been worse, bumped your noggin or something.
  8. There's a customer service number on the site. Why not just call them and ask?
  9. I bought a few items from them a few years back and was pleased. I think tax was a lot less but can't remember for certain.
  10. Moved into a new, to me, house in June. Roof leaks apparently. I knew it was old, had hoped to get one or two more years out of it. Love to go steel if I can afford it...
  11. Really great report! Thanks for posting, makes me want to dust off the musky gear...
  12. Good for you, well done!
  13. Found it pretty surprising that they rested all their good guys today. No Bautista, no Encarnacion, no Donaldson, no Martin, basically fielded a complete second string team. I would've thought ensuring home field advantage would have meant clawing for every win till it's locked up.,
  14. Wow. Nicely done! The grouse in the public lands I hunt around Peterborough are incredibly difficult to get. Still looking to get my first. They spook so easily you rarely get anything resembling a shot.
  15. I'm really liking Revere in the lead off spot. Hope they keep him there next year. Seems like a long time since they had an everyday player in that spot who can hit for average with good wheels.
  16. Had a 12 foot tinner, 6 hp Johnson. Me alone, 19 km/hour. Add a second person and it would drop to 11 or 12km/h. Calm conditions.
  17. Nice looking first musky without a doubt! I'd go so far as to say chunky even. Well done. Only question is wether you caught that fish or it caught you? Cause once you get hooked, look out!
  18. The only thing better than fishing with kids is fishing without them. Just kidding. Although it does get pretty exhausting. Took four fishing the other day on the banks of the Otonabee, spent the entire time running from one to the other, untangling lines and reels, freeing up snags, releasing fish, etc. Priceless though really when I look back on it.
  19. I think there is an ultralight St croix avid for sale in the classified at 120. Fantastic rods.
  20. I think it's fair to make some distinction between teachers and strangers. It's not like you are going to let a stranger take your kid on a field trip. I see where you are coming from though Cliff.
  21. I may of missed something but I'd say skip the pop up and buy yourself an ancient hard top camper. Way less hassle, not necessarily much more weight, probably about as likely to leek somewhere, but they last forever. Probably cost you about the same too. Spent aproximately 3 to 6 weeks a summer between 1973 and 2011 in a hard shell 50's era camper till we let her go. Upgraded to a slightly larger golden falcon that dates from the 70's a few years back and love it. You can still pitch a tent if you want, but the wife and kids, particularly if you've got little ones, will appreciate the amenities of the the hardtop. And, yes, obviously, everyone loves a 12 gauge, regardless of the situation. Bring two.
  22. Are you sure at this point they intend on letting you go? Is this just a what if kind of thing and you want to be prepared?
  23. Awesome. When you finally get that first musky on its just a great feeling. Good job.
  24. Some kind of super sized Len Thompson 5 of diamonds missing 80 percent of its paint. So more like a 2 of diamonds with a unique patina. No takers either way unfortunately.
  25. Nice report. Would be great to see the pics. Bowfin are cool, mean looking though.
