Stayed there a few years ago. Rob is a great guy and very helpful. Boats/motors were top notch. We did the ATV trip to the back lake. That was a lot of fun.
We were considering moving for retirement to waterfront on either Buckhorn or Pigeon. After reading this, I will now be rethinking and probably looking at BOQ. The rice will only spread.
Hi all, looking for some suggestions for a weekend getaway. Wife and I are looking for a cottage resort that's pet friendly and has boat rentals either in the southern Georgian Bay area (Port Severn, Honey Harbour) or Trenton area.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
I was on a fly-in out of Hearst last year and we were in the middle of a may fly hatch. Normally 40 walleye a day or more but we were lucky to catch 4 a day. The may fly were thick and when the full moon came up it.........well it was indescribable. Good thing the pike were happy to see us.
I've had great luck with chartreuse spinner baits. Seems to be the colour for the lake.
Never caught anything in the Severn river other than a few rock bass but people do fish it.
I use them all the time. When I come home from a trip I throw them in the laundry with the rest of my gear and hang them to dry. Then don't smell after that - till the next outing!
Stopped in on the way home. Mostly full of suckers with the odd walleye here and there and what looked like one sturgeon swimming around. I think the run is mostly done.
A friend of mine once told me "the years between 55 and 65 are far better than those between 65 and 75". As I approach 55, I'm getting out as soon as I can.
