  1. I've got the Ram 1500 with the 3.6l. Love it, it's great on gas and does what I want, which is occasionally tow my 17' boat, but like others have said if I was going across Canada towing 5,500 lbs I'd go for the hemi. Lots of guys I work with have the hemi and love the power of it. Fuel economy isn't too bad either. Regardless, good luck with your purchase.
  2. Well I switched it over a few days ago and so far it's been great!
  3. I have a 2015 Ram with the 3.6 Penstar and 8 speed. Love it and regular gas mileage is usually 9.8L/100km. That's combined city/hwy. Highly recommend, and always get the 4x4.
  4. Hi all, it's a 24v system. I will this weekend transfer over the electronics to the starter battery and go from there. I bought the boat used but I'm only the second owner.
  5. Thanks everyone! I really do appreciate how helpful the people on this board are. Guess I've got some work to do this weekend.
  6. So my mystery continues. After about 90 minutes of heavy trolling motor use (high winds/waves) my electronics crap out. They're hooked to the trolling motor batteries, which are new. I've been all over the electrical system at the batteries. Cleaned and tightened the terminals, etc. I checked the voltage on the batteries. One was 12.3, the other was 9! The boat is a 17' Yamaha G3 with a 115 Yamaha. Charged is a Minn Kota. So a few questions if you don't mind. 1. When I was reconnecting the terminals I heard a motor/pump or something start up for about 5 seconds and then shut off. Pulled the wire off again and reconnected. No noise. Left the wire off for about a minute, reconnected and heard the sound again, coming from near the front left side of the boat, when my internal fuel tank is. Could that be a transfer pump or fuel pump???? 2. My electronics are connected to my trolling motor batteries, but I've heard everyone has them connected to their started battery. Is that what everyone does? Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Check out the G3 by Yamaha. I have a 17' with a 115. I don't ski, just fish but it's a great boat.
  8. Picked up two new series 27 Deka batteries from Bridgenorth Sports. Real nice guys. Installed them yesterday and tried them out this morning. Runs just like it used to. Very zippy! Thanks for the help everyone.
  9. Well I can't find an Interstate dealer/seller in the Peterborough area so I'm going with the Walmart battery 31 series. There were some good reviews so I'll see how they work.
  10. 68f-70f on upper Buckhorn yesterday
  11. Was out on Upper Buckhorn for a few hours on Saturday night. Caught 3 walleye. 2 were about 8" long so it was great to see the lake producing. The other was about 2lbs. All were thrown back. Black twister tail caught them all.
  12. Hi all, I have a 24v trolling motor battery set up. Once I put my trolling motor on, the battery meter on the TM shows only 2 out of 4 bars. So I'm wondering if one of my batteries are pooched. The charger seems to be working fine. So how do I know which one is pooched. I bought the boat used and it's 4 years old. They are Interstate batteries and are fully topped up. Thanks in advance for answers.
  13. I never have and I'm not sure if they expect it. Others may have a different opinion or experience.
  14. Just announced they are closed till next Friday. No surprise.
  15. Saw Life last week and Logan last night. Neither are worth the price of the ticket. Wait till it's released on line.
  16. Where do you get letters? I don't want to put those stick on ones from CT.
  17. One thing I found out at the boat show last year was the Lund was bought by Merc, so they only come with Mercs. I would have bought a Lund but I wanted a Yamaha or Honda on the back. Still could have done it through the dealer but the cost went way up. Apparently Merc has bought Lowe as well. Anyway, found a used 2011 G3 (Yamaha's boat brand) with a 115 on the back. Awesome boat. Now I just need to be awesome at fishing.
  18. I have a G3 172FS with a 115 Yamaha on the back. Love it. Solid, lots of storage and best thing is it only comes with a Yamaha on the back.
  19. Well not sure what happened Friday night. I heard what sounded like ATVs roaring around the north side of Fox Island. Then around 11pm or so a helicopter flew over my house and looked like it set down behind the island. Fell asleep and didn't hear it take off and didn't see anything on the news. The open water is on the south side of Fox Island.
  20. Nope, still high and it's opened up even more. This is the area that's just north of Emerald Isle.
  21. No huts out and looks like some surface water on top.
  22. Hi all, just so you know - the secondary channel of the TSW (the one you take if you're going to Chemong from Bobcaygen) has open water now. This is the area between Fox island and Emerald island. It was frozen but I think they've final opened up the dams in the town of Buckhorn. So beware!!!!
