  1. Try Walsten Marine. They are an hour away from me and I'll drive there anytime. Great folks to deal with.
  2. We moved from the city to the lake about 3 years ago and haven't looked back. Lots of great advice and the only thing I will add is have your septic, and home inspected top to bottom - and for septics just keep in mind, if it can go in you, it can go in a septic! Otherwise don't flush it down the toilet or drain. And CLR makes this blue septic treatment that works really well.
  3. I've been to Quantz a couple of time. Last time I had a wolf cub follow me up and down the shoreline when I was trolling. Pretty neat. There's also a family of beavers that come up by the dock to take raspberry bushes. Fun to watch. You should look at Napken next time. A little more expensive but fun, but for the ultimate in big pike, Pym is the best. Have fun!
  4. Can't go wrong with Hearst Air. What lake are you going to?
  5. New PB. This is absolutely the biggest fish I have every caught. Normally I fly way up north for this, but funny enough caught it right in front of my house. And yes, it was a musky!
  6. Butlers are great for making restaurant reservations and getting you beach chairs and such. Tipping is up to you but $10 isn't too bad of a tip.
  7. Hi all, I have the above unit. Started acting up a few weeks ago where no matter how deep I was it'd only read between 2.6' and 3.0'. I'd shut it off, restart it and it'd work for about 10 minutes and start again. Transducer and cable are good as is power supply and voltage. I've reduced the sensitivity as per the manual and still doesn't work for more than a few minutes. Lowrance is recommending a software update and a reset. Any thoughts from my learned fishermen?
  8. I've got a Ram with the 3.6 and 8 speed transmission. I average about 9.6l/100km. Love it!
  9. Upper Buckhorn is 80f this morning
  10. 14' Lund with a 15hp electric start Merc and a roller trailer. Comes with a Hummingbird 597 color HD chart-plotter/sonar combo with map card, new battery, flip down swivel seats, carpeted interior, two dry storage areas, navigation lights, safety kit, and custom cover. 11. Hi all, can anyone recommend a simple, easy to use Youtube to MP3 converter? Trying to help my older neighbour download some songs for his MP3 player. Thanks,
  12. Saw Black Panther last night. Very good movie!
  13. I had the same problem when I was taking a 12v feed from my 24v trolling motor setup. After a few hours on the TM I'd lose my electronics. I switched the feed to the 12v starter battery and haven't had a problem since.
  14. I'm on Upper Buckhorn and lots of open water in the southern channel. Areas around Chemong are opening up too.
  15. Yup, the channel infront of my house on Upper Buckhorn is wide open. Hardly any snow at all.
  16. I've been to many of Hearst Air's camps. First class operation and very good boats and motors!
  17. Had the same text message yesterday. Just hit delete!
  18. Rather than wire a pony panel what I had done was a transfer switch placed in my smart meter. When the power goes out, all I have to do is connect my gen set power cord to a plug right underneath the meter. I just shut off the non-essentials on my circuit panel and bobs your uncle. When street power comes back, it automatically switches over and isolates the gen set. As for what gen set, lots of advice on that. I got one big enough to power the whole house so I don't have to decide what to run.
  19. Very sad news Big Cliff. So sorry to hear of Sue's passing.
  20. Thank you Big Cliff. I'm going to look at first myself just to see if I can see where it's coming from. Maybe a mouse? If it's not a simple fix, I'll try Craftsman's warranty line. But I do appreciate the offer. Very kind of you.
  21. Question, noticed my one year old Craftsman snowblower was leaking gas out of the bottom of the housing. Started it up and it smoked and ran like crap! Haven't bothered to take it apart yet but wondering if anyone has had similar experience and what did you do? Seafoam was added just before I put it away. And yah I know it's early but it was leaking gas. That's the only reason I toyed with it. I don't want to be blamed for an early winter.
