  1. I commute between Markham and Barrie everyday. Lately all I've seen is stupid people going way too fast. See lots of deer in Markham along the 407 corridor. Saw a meteor cross the 400 last year. That was neat!
  2. Read the article yesterday. Great reading as always. Well done!
  3. This link was on another post about black friday. It looks awesome. A friend of mine bought it. Hopefully there's more left. http://radioworld.ca...ble-p-8005.html
  4. I've had two fishing buddys and there are an ok unit but you can't go faster than trolling with them and the clamps a bitc$ to take on and off all the time. I bought an Eagle portable a few years ago and my fishing buddys are gather dust in the garage.
  5. Thanks for this! I sent this to a friend and she just ordered it for her hubby.
  6. Just watched it. Wasn't that complimentary to the camp, which I thought was unfair.
  7. The severn river from the bottom of Sparrow past the locks to the top of Couch is speed controled at 10kph. I do this a fair bit in my cruiser so you should count on at least 40 minutes of travel time plus whatever it takes to get through the locks. Good thing is that at this time of year the locks are very quiet. We went through last week back and forth and was only one other boat in the locks.
  8. Speaking from experience - you will get what you pay for. Nothing like crappy fishing with crappy boats, motors and cabins to ruin your trip.
  9. I've been on many fly-ins with Hearst Air and they are awesome! Great report and I always look forward to reading them.
  10. I had a wolf cub follow me on the shoreline as I was trolling. Went on for about 1/2 hour. I threw it a pike but that just spooked it and it ran off into the trees. I'm sure Mom and Dad were close by!
  11. Did anyone sign up?
  12. Hi, I pulled this post from the FB TSW Board. Sign the petition if you want. We just returned from a fantastic boat trip Left from Sturgeon to Orilla then back down and up to love sick, while on our adventure the lock masters were telling us about the potential cut backs to the TSW they told us we could help by signing the on line petition here is the web-site www.historiccanalsofcanada.com This site closes in a few days. Also on the site there is a tab that will give you links to your MPP you can send them an e-mail as well. Would love to see a happy out come My link
  13. May I'll write one call "50 Shades of Tube Jigs!"
  14. Here's my observation - I've been watching the Simcoe, Couch and Port Severn/Honey Harbour real estate market since September 2010. I took a job in Barrie with the intent of moving to the area when my wife finds a job in her field. Almost all the waterfront homes I've been following since 2010 have not sold with some being on the market for over 2 years. Why - IMHO they are way overpriced. The owners still think that the baby-boomers from the GTA are coming with wads of cash to buy their properties. That ended in 2007 with the market crash. Now the BB are fueling the GTA condo market. I've watched some prices drop $50k and still no buyers. So when it comes time to buy I'll be making an offer that is reasonable but I doubt the owners will think so.
  15. Hi there, I need a new canvas camper top. Can anyone recommend someone in the Orillia area?
  16. I've been going to McQuaby Lake for May 24 for the last 20 years. Generally they are just coming out and are not too bad, but this is a wierd spring for sure!
  17. 7' two piece Ugly Stick for all my fly-in adventures. Never let me down yet. Bigest was 42"
  18. A Lab or an Irish Setter would be my choice.
  19. Those bites are the mark of a vam-pike! (vampire pike)
  20. Thanks everyone for thier replies. I'm going to try Tuffline. It's actually for my wife's new rod and reel so if it doesn't work........thank god she doesn't go on this website!
  21. As much as I like Fireline I hate the sound of it as it comes through the guides. I use it for all sorts of fishing (spinning reel) such as casting, trolling and live bait. Probably primarily trolling though and I'm generally fishing for walleye or pike.
  22. I too sing the praises of Seafoam. Cleared up a 2hp Johnston that my buddy stored for 3 years without any prep and my surging snow blower. Excellent stuff!
  23. Hi all, I've used Fireline for years but I'm thinking of switching. Can anyone recommend a no-stretch line. I usually use 8-12lb test. Thanks!
