I convinced my wife to quit teaching, Why, piles of take home work, marking all the time, lesson planning, report cards, IEP's and on and on. A ton of it done on our family time. She quit, we moved to a small community, bought a less expensive house, paid off our vehicles and try to keep our costs down. I bought an old boat instead of a new one etc. etc. She supply teaches now, maybe once a week. There is always someone home for the kids, and we have way less stress. You'll never convince the people who hate you for what you have that your providing them a valuable service. Trust me, I know all about that. It's not worth the effort! As for teaching, my hats off to you... I couldn't do it, didn't want my wife to do it anymore, and I with all the hassles that come with it, I wouldn't recommend it even though I know it can be pretty rewarding at times!

I haven't worked Monday to Friday at any time in my career. Like I said, to each their own, but like political parties, we aren't all going to agree on the same things. There are times on a Sunday where it would've been quite convenient for me to go hunting but at our house, when I'm off it's a family day. At this point, with 3 kids and multiple hockey games and practices to attend it seems it's never a convenient time to go hunting. Instead of Sunday hunting, I'd like to add an 8th day to the week!

A day for the critters to rest and a day off for family time. I am neither a bible thumper or divisive having spent many dollars to support parties and organizations that protect firearms owners rights, but I'm not a big Sunday hunt guy. To each their own.

Depends on how financially stable you are. Only you can answer that. The other question is, do you have to go down the hole at the new job? Time off is a major factor for any type of employment. I work long hours when I'm on, but I have lots of time off. Me, I'm in a very stable job and I enjoy that security. It also allows for long term planning, however if I didn't see my family much, that would severely impact my opinion of my employment. Good luck.
