  1. I like any kind of fish picture, near or far!
  2. I'm not in anyone's "clique" and never will be, but there are couple guys on this site that probably need a break from the Internet. A couple of threads have devolved into nothing but mud slinging. It's one thing to argue a point, or state your case and another to crap all over each other. This isn't real life, just a pleasant distraction. If it's bothering you so much that you need to be nasty , it's probably time to move on!
  3. Congrats, I have a 2010 v8. It's been a good truck. You did well to stick with the coyote. We have gone through a few of the turbos on work vehicles now, all prior to 100k, and I know of at least one guy that had his give up on a personal truck just after the warranty expired. The v8's are solid. 5 of my buddies are driving F150's ranging in age from 2006 to 2014 with very few problems.
  4. State license is easy. Can be had online in no time. The first time you set it up, you will have a bit of trouble with setup as a non resident. Make sure you save your D.E.C.A.L.S number and it will make subsequent purchases a snap. I always get a state license when fishing border waters. There is nothing worse than watching guys across the line poking fish when your in a slow drift. Have fun!
  5. Here's hoping they never see the big one. Good that there was no injuries.
  6. Don't know why they always wait until the last minute. There could have been action taken on this sooner. Better late than never I guess. I like the idea of a revolving season, that'd make for a different experience from year to year.
  7. Plenty of good old gear. Abu's for example. Never met a 300 that I liked!
  8. I have my grandfathers old 300, and a couple abus. I have fished extensively with the abus, the drags are very smooth. I leave the mitchell on the shelf. Smooth is not a word I've ever associated with the 300. Just my opinion.
  9. I used to use crown, I now go to Howe and reeves in fergus. I like the oil they put on, it's a no drip, but they practically disassemble your truck to apply it. You can't go wrong with oil spraying your vehicle.
  10. This is no joke. This could be a real problem.
  11. People eventually get what they deserve. In this case, all those folks who voted in this government are going to get it via a gigantic hand in their pockets. Problem is I'm getting it too, but I can laugh about it, and watch everyone else who thought it would be gumdrops and lollipops take it too. At least I knew I was going to get screwed under the current regime. Tax breaks for the working stiff, but we'll just add an extra 5 or 6 taxes to take it back!
  12. That can't be the case can it? LOL
  13. . Well there is some good news. And what that means is that it's not just me that's concerned, but the liberals are hearing from their base quite loudly as well! Obviously it's not just us frightened conservatives lol.
  14. Yes, I'm aware of all that. Thanks for your input. Like I said, if you want to live in a utopian fog by all means do so. The boogeyman can take many forms that's true. Nonetheless prudence is a virtue, and it often gets thrown under the wheels of the bus for political expedience! I believe that is the case here.
  15. They where good for me. Maybe not so much for you. But this conversation isn't about that, and frankly that is all matter of opinion and political views anyway. This is a discussion of security. If you believe proper background checks will be done on 900 refugees a day from a war torn country, many without paperwork then please PM me, I have some excellent swampland available in Florida and it shouldn't cost much to drain it.
  16. All this living in fear business is pure nonsense. Those of us with concerns have legitimate ones. If you want to tuck your head between your knees and repeat over and over that everything is going to be ok, feel free to do so. Those of us who wish to act prudently, protect our interests at home, and be aware that there are some very credible threats to our society and way of life will continue to do so, and not worry what you think about it. It doesn't mean that everyone with a concern wants to close the border, but we know darn well that bringing in people left and right while our govt tells us it's all just fine is pure ignorance. But, as they say ignorance is bliss.
  17. It takes the RCMP canadian firearms centre 6 to 8 weeks to process a PAL application including a background check on a canadian citizen. I guarantee they aren't doing 900 of them a week much less a day. You can't take them at their word. That word has come from above, and your being told it to ease your mind.
  18. Here is how this is going to work. It is the beginning of a good rogering by the federal govt. in cahoots with a Provincial liberal govt that has been screwing us for years already. Get ready for 4 more years of screwing at the very least, if not 8 given canadian voting history of 8-10 years of liberal then 8-10 of conservative. Enjoy it! I'm sure little poo and his minions will enjoy boning us!
  19. You won't find just retired guys on the geen midweek my good man. It's quite often a busy place. No recommendations for accommodations unfortunately, it's within driving distance for me.
  20. I was worried about the yamaha drive system as well, until I beat on it a bit. So far so good. I've towed quite a few heavy loads, and ridden it out of the bush with a couple extra doggers on board during dear season many times. It hasn't quit yet. And none our doggers are lightweights either, all 220 plus lol.
  21. My yamaha is a 2005 and starts flawlessly every time. Nothing bad to say, go for it!
  22. 10lb trilene XL clear. Spring fall and winter.
  23. I can't offer any input on the korkers, but based on your description and on my own observances, if it where me I'd go with the smaller stud. I use a pan head metal screw in my boot soles, I pick them up at home hardware. They are on the smaller side from all the studs commercially available, and they do the job without being so aggressive. It has to be pretty icy, or the rocks need a pretty heavy layer of scum before I'm wishing I had an aggressive stud. I also don't worry about jumping into my truck with my boots on, or even into my tin boat during the earlier part of waterfowl season as they just don't damage things if your careful and they don't get caught on the pedals like some studs I've had before while driving. Just my uneducated, non korker owning opinion.
  24. My kid broke a pair of mine in half, and they have me a new pair no questions asked. Great service!
  25. I'm with him! I'm pulling my floors and redoing them with vinyl this spring, and if I need to replace any foam, it will be noodles.
