I'm running a 2010 f150 with a 4.6L since new. It's been a pretty good truck. Previous to that I had a 1997 Chevy with the 305. Also a very good truck. The only weak spot I've heard of from other ford owners is the occasional blown tranny. Happened to a buddy of mine on an 06, and I've heard of it happening to a friend of my main fishing buddy, apparently that was an 09. Otherwise they seem to run pretty well. The dodge sure does look nice, but I know nothing about them. Ford or Chev are pretty solid though! If you have the driveway space, go for the 6.5 foot box (ford) or whatever Chevy offers as the mid length box. I can get a full size atv in mine with the gate closed. Make sure you get running boards!

You really don't need a ci4, the regular stradic is fine, even the 123.99 one would be great for a 1000 series reel. Very hard to justify a ci4 when they cost so much. Now that I said that, I have two 1000 ci4 stradics and I love em, and if I had the cash laying around I'd buy another if I needed a new reel. Very light reels and I find them pretty smooth. If the reel is for Wally's, definitely go for the 1000 size. That should muddy the water.

My guy will ship them for me, but they still have to go back to st. Croix. I don't know of any dealer authorized for over the counter exchange.

That pretty much sums it up.

Nice tinner. I've fished out of tiller boats for years, some more deluxe than others. I picked up my first used side console last year. This Lund SSV was my all time favorite. Sold to a buddy, and I still miss it! He is still enjoying it! The work station at the time. I had a lot of fun in that rig, it was 16 feet long and would take more water than I could without losing my lunch. I fished all over the province in it, and never felt outgunned even on the Great Lakes. I'm of the opinion you can't have too many toys on a boat. You only live once!

2 hook only, even with big crawlers, anything more is a pita in the net, and I don't find it's ever increased my hookup ratio anyway. I have some one hook harnesses for minnows as well, but generally I just pull a plug when I start to think about that. I like whatever hook I find on sale, generally a short shank.

Best Items to bring on Fly-In Fishing Trip?

Ear plugs are for pricks like me that snore! -
I remember ashbridges bay being littered with dead alewife as far as you could see. I used to walk down there with my uncle whenever I'd go down to the city for a visit. Cohos and rainbow are all good with me. I've had my fill of the chinook fishery, both from the boat and on the river!

Looks good! I have to redo the front deck on my boat. One side is starting to rot a little bit. I'm not looking forward to it. I think I'm going to do vinyl.

I use 10lb, it casts as far as I need it to. Use a leader, either mono or fluoro, whatever makes you happier. Otherwise you'll have line loss due to fraying, especially with zebra mussels. It's good stuff, and my favorite next to powerpro.

I would do sonotube/concrete as well. If your looking for something permanent anyway! For the amount of concrete your talking about it's an easy job with a wheelbarrow. We did a large atv shelter at our hunt camp and put in tubes and concrete. That things not going anywhere! 3 feet should be plenty! -
Anyone know the results of the fishing tournament

I'm not really into wading through the whole for or against thing here, it's not my issue. I mainly fish pickerel for my boating season. I throw back a lot of fish, but when I'm looking for a fish fry, which i do often enough, the only time I ever have pickerel right side up in my livewell is if I'm fishing early April on the Detroit. Otherwise, they roll and die in short order, or do the sideways lethargic gill flap we are all familiar with, they aren't recovering from that either. Bass are a much hardier fish. That's a fact, and all the disputing in the world from would be tourny fishermen won't change it. Make it a derby and kill em all, at least you won't be trying to fool anyone. -
Big Gull Lake Weekend, The Good, Bad and Ugly

I had one done by these guys for $50 some years ago. It was in similar condition to the one pictured. It looked like new. -
I've heard of a lot of friend of a friend stories. Most of the time the friend left out some details as to why they where charged. If he lost more than a day going to court, I'm going to suggest there is more to it than meets the eye. Keep in mind, most people, even the best of friends cast themselves in the best possible light when discussing something they where charged with.

What works for me doesn't nessecarily work for everyone. I've had excellent results with both lines and I've used them hard. Your mileage may vary.

I've never tried it. Even branching out to nanofil was a big stretch for me, before that all I used was 6lb XT, and regular power pro for braid. I tend to stick to what I know works, change is difficult LOL.
-
10lb nanofil. I use 10 or 12lb seauguar STS for leader and to help with abrasion. I guarantee it will cast a country mile on a spinning reel. I still use power pro as well, it's always been reliable!

Up until the last year or so, cabelas had an extremely liberal replacement warranty on their waders. I know of guys who have replaced them after years of use. I currently own a pair of LL bean waders with a lifetime warranty as a backup pair. Bean is amazing with honouring their warranty. I've heard that cabelas has now gotten extremely tight with their warranties. Probably due to abuse.

Dara, get your motor replaced via Minnkota, and put aside a few bucks to buy an ipilot head unit for your Terrova when you get a chance. Yes it's not ideally what you wanted, but sometimes you have to make lemonade. I guarantee you won't regret paying extra for the ipilot after you used it for a few trips! A Trolling motor with GPS was without a doubt the best money I've ever spent on my boat.

3 castles resort, Lower Buckhorn. Louis might have something available. I've been going there for 20 years and it doesn't disappoint!

Ok, please forgive me, I know I'm old but!

LOL, creative thinking!! -
First of all, only a small percentage of the population are sheisters, it's likely whomever received your information is not a criminal. Secondly, if you want legal advice, call a lawyer for a consult. Most Internet advice is often misinterpreted or incorrect.

$175 is a pretty good price for that size batt. No good battery shops near me, so my choices are walmart, CT or Costco, all depending how far I want to drive.
-
I run mine to the ground often. They don't last more than 3-4 years tops. I killed a Kirkland in 3 seasons, but I run em until the motor stops. It's all the slow trolling. I just put a walmart GR31 up front, I doubt it will make it past 4 years. I could probably do better, but sometimes I come in real late and forget to charge for a few days etc. I just resigned myself to buying a new one every few years. I've had em all, from costco to Canadian tire. If you beat on em their all the same!
