  1. I'm not a music guy, but I've always liked the hip. My shift ends at 8 and it's straight home for a rum and coke and the Hip!
  2. I like seafoam, I use it a couple times a season, but mostly I just buy shell premium and I don't have any problems.
  3. Looking good, you'll love that old smoker when it's back on the water!!
  4. Welp, he really banged the crap out of that rock! I been there, just not quite to that degree. Bummer!
  5. You'll never truly be happy fishing from a pleasure boat. If your a fisherman, overrule them and get the fish and ski. If your a guy who go's fishing 3 times a year then go with the pleasure boat.
  6. Transport Canada trailer requirements for all trailers. https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehiclesafety/tp-tp13136-trailer_e-414.htm#Alternative
  7. I researched the composite bunks extensively this spring when redoing mine. All the information I found was that it was too flexible and didn't give enough support. I went with cedar.
  8. If I took anything home from a store that had a huge ding in it, even if it was a warranty replacement, I would take it back.
  9. Nice looking tinny. I rebuilt ours at the cottage 2 years ago, but I got lazy and didn't paint it. It doesn't take much to make an old tin boat like new again!
  10. I know nothing about bass boats, but buy the rod socks. Some of the best cash I've spent, and worth it to keep the disaster tangles down in the rod locker.
  11. They charge at the boat launches.
  12. I often see that with may/shad fly hatches. Couldn't say with any certainty though. Your mileage may vary.
  13. Your golden with a kayak. Just watch the main channels on the weekends, but we don't have too many dummy drivers on the lake all things considered!
  14. It'll save you some money! Last major wreck I had was 3K plus!
  15. Our family's cottage is on Kash. It's my home lake and I don't spread a lot of fishing info around on it, however, the rocks are no joke. I know the lake very well and I've still managed to take out the lower on our ski boat once, and dinged a few props on the tinners over the years. Anyone on the lake calls it Krashy lake for a reason. Even the guys who've been working on the lake running barges for construction etc. are known to do in a lower unit once a season. Navionics is much better marked than it used to be, but don't for a second think that's all the obstructions. There are decent populations of pike and bass, so have fun and be careful.
  16. 3 castles resort lower buckhorn.
  17. That must've been some bear.
  18. Got to love fishing with the kids!
  19. I dip mine in water, then leave them on the console to dry.
  20. I sold the house and my new place has an asphalt driveway, otherwise I'd take your advice. I can't tell you how many times I almost bought it on that driveway in the rain LOL. I do miss the look of a stamped concrete driveway though.
  21. Mainly for stamped concrete driveways and walkways. It is also slippery! I did the driveway and walkways at my last house, and you had to watch your step when it was wet. $150 taxes in is close to what I paid for a pail in 2012 before we moved.
  22. Keep your trip reasonable in duration and keep a set of oars handy just in case (oars, not paddles.) and you'll be just fine. You'll probably catch more fish as well because you'll always be at trolling speed!
  23. If you must have 8, then look for a shop that sells seaguar STS. It comes in 100 yard spools for a reasonable price. Lebaron sells it. I've been using regular seaguar yellow box in 200 yard spools as leaders for steelhead fishing for years though. It works pretty well and I've used it for pics as well. Reason I switched to STS is that it comes on a smaller spool and I find it's handier both in the boat and in my stream bag.
  24. I use fluoro for leader materiel. Seaguar STS in 10 and 12. But for harnesses and the like, I use 12lb big game. It's cheap and comes in bulk spools and works very well for a worm harness and that sort of thing.
  25. I will buck the trend here. Where I live we have a few reservoirs with no gas engines allowed. I've been all over them in a tin boat with a 50lb thrust electric and now I'm using a sportspal canoe I bought off of this site. I have yet to hit the oars or the paddles! On my fishing boat I have a 55lb thrust bow mount that pushes a 16 foot boat weighing 1300lbs plus me at 230, my 16 year old and my 7 year old boys at walleye speeds of 1.1 to 1.6 MPH. I run a GRP 31 battery up front and can go for about 6 hours continuos and possibly longer. My old 27 used to drop dead on me after about 4 to 4.5 hours. I haven't run the 31 to max yet (new battery though so I'll see after it's got a season on it). A gasser is nice and you can troll with it no problem, but electrics will work and they are so stealthy. I only troll on my main these days if it's pretty rough out, or if I go out for salmon or something that requires more speed. Just another point of view.
