A good first aid kit

Once again an excellent read. As soon as I see a new episode available it has my complete attention. Really appreciate the time and effort you put into your adventures.

I have seen some similar to that used as decorative antiques. What Dave said is also my understanding of their use.

Thanks for staying up to write the report. Enjoyed it all.

I just returned from there Sept. 25. I've been going to Shining Tree Camp for the last 20 years; fishing there and different lakes in the area for specks, lakers, splake, rainbows and of course walleye. I'll send you a PM with more detailed info. Did you buy the place that was for sale beside the boat launch?

Arctic Char & Lake Trout Report.

I always look forward to reading about your adventures. Once again you've provided a great read. For sure many of us think how great it would be to fish some of the places you do but just as sure very, very few would be willing to go through what you do so that you can fish these places. I applaud you not just for sharing your fishing adventures but also for the service you provide to the people in our northern communities. -
Hope this helps.

That was 4 fours well spent. Too bad about losing the big laker a couple days earlier.

Selection in stores definitely varies. The Belleville (Quinte Mall location)store would have a larger selection than Napanee. Not sure about Kingston but it might be your best bet. Picton also has a fairly large store you could check out if your in that area. You could do some wine tasting while in that area too. If you go to lcbo.com you can search individual stores to see if they carry a particular product your interested in.

Another enjoyable read. It's not just your successes that make it interesting but how you face the challenges faced through the journey. Really appreciate you taking the time writing it and allowing us to feel like we were there too. -
Taking smoke fish over to another country
the spirit of fishing replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
I'm in Italy right now with my family and as "boombat" said they seem to be a lot more lenient. We arrived in Venice last Thursday and followed the exit signs after getting off the plane. We only saw one way out that said nothing to declare which is the what we had. We stepped through the door and there was no where but outside into Italy for us to go. Unsure we stopped to make sure we were doing right thing and a man came to us in civilian clothes asking what the problem was. We said we thought we should be going through customs and he said "I am customs, I am the law", as he showed us his badge and then added " you have nothing to declare enjoy your visit" Our first visit to Europe but if that's how customs operates in other Euro countries it's certainly less onerous than going into Canada or the U.S. -
PSA - Scammers are hard at it again! NF

I've gotten many of these calls and use several tactics to make things uncomfortable. My favourite is asking them to hold on a minute while I go to my computer, that's when I hold the phone to the smoke detector and press "test". I was messing with them so much my wife thought they were using our number for new trainees to call.? -
ATV Purchase- at times NF

Thanks all for the input. This is just the type of info I was hoping to get. -
Hi all; I'm thinking of buying an ATV around 500 cc engine size or a side by side same sized engine or perhaps a bit larger. Looking for advice on brands to avoid and why I should avoid them. Feel free to recommend any particular brand as well. I don't need the fastest and flashiest machine available; just something to do a little trail riding and to travel into remote lakes. Thanks

When I bought my truck it's the one option I wished I had included. I contacted the service department and asked them to get me a price on having one installed. They were to call me back but after a few days not hearing from them I started looking elsewhere. I ended up buying this one: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07425TPBT/ref=pe_3034960_236394800_TE_dp_1 I'm certainly not very mechanically skilled and was able to easily install it myself in about 30 minutes. I've been using it for over a year now without any issues and actually bought a second one for my wife's vehicle.

Very nice specs. Welcome to the board, I'm familiar with some of your exploits from another forum and I think the members here will enjoy your contributions. -
Looks like good times, good fishing and good food. Enjoy it while you can I think my time for those kind of excursions has passed but I love reading about the success of others. Thanks

Outstanding. Sounds like a great memorable day. Thanks for sharing.

Depending where you're staying. The town of Wellington has a boat launch that is probably the closest to the popular salmon fishing areas. There is another provincial park at Brighton that would provide access to Lake Ontario too and launching facilities. Many years ago I salmon fished this area and we launched out of Brighton. On Weller's Bay access to Lake Ontario is at the north western corner of the bay and there are several private campgrounds with docking facilities in this area. Try this link to a map of that area, when I pulled it up it showed several of the campgrounds. Our trailer is in a park on the south shore of Weller's Bay and unfortunately our park does not allow short term campers. I think there are other parks on the south shore that have transient spots but then it would be a longer run to get to the lake. Great beaches close by too.

I can't help with info on towing but I do have another alternate suggestion for you if being in party central isn't too appealing. You might want to consider Prince Edward County. Amazing beaches like Sandbanks. Salmon fishing in Lake Ontario on the west side of the County. Walleye, pike and bass fishing in the Bay of Quinte ,Wellars Bay, East Lake ,West Lake surrounding the county. And for the days you feel like getting away from the water there are dozens of wineries to visit. Getting a site at Sandbanks Provincial Park might be difficult but there are many other private campgrounds in the area. Another possible plus for you is that there is a large number of Quebecers visiting this area and bilingual service is very common. Before moving to the Ottawa area we lived in Trenton and we still have a summer place in the county so if you need more info let me know and I'll help as much as I can.
