Any Legend 16 owners here? Pulling trigger
bigugli replied to Raycaster's topic in General Discussion
had the exact same boat and motor some years back. Put a lot of hours on the water over 10 years. With 2 in the boat, no problem getting up on plane doing an average 20- 25 mph in calmer water. We would run out on Erie on calm days. -
In these hard times what about the Fishing lodge operators?

I missed th boat!. Fool me sending the wife out west to visit relatives while I stayed home with the dogs. Should have had her stay home while I came down to visit you Cliff.

Many years ago it was the wild party my Aunt and Uncle threw every year. Our neighbour, Terry, would dress up as the old year. My Uncle would be dressed, wearing nothing but a giant diaper, as the baby New Year. It was a good thing we all lived within crawling distance. Today our household does nothing. I usually go ice fishing.

Happy New Year

Early Volkswagon Rabbits from the 70's also had some serious problems from loss of steering control to exploding gas tanks in collisions.

Going back to the 70's Fords were known as "rustbuckets". A well deserved name at the time. You could not find a Ford that did not have rust coming through the paint in less than 2 years. My boss at the WCB bought a big Lincoln only to have a rust patch the size of my fist on the door 6 weeks after purchase. My uncle's Pinto had the floor rust out 3 years after purchase. We put down plywood and tar to keep the water out. In more recent years, the Ford Freestar was a lemon. Had 4 transmissions in 8 years. First replacement I paid for. the other two were free replacements when they broke down as there were recalls on them.

Hyvaa Joulua, Merry Christmas to all.

We have 2 days of feasting combining faves from both the new and old world. Finns want cured ham, wife wants turkey. There will be candied salmon, shrimp, turnip casserole, squash casserole, potatoes, various pickles, pulla, piparkakku, salads, pies, cakes, etc.... . And this would be considered a very modest spread compared to any smorgasbord my dear Gramma would turn out just for Christmas Eve.

What a generous offer Big Cliff.

Not that much worse than abandon ship drill jumping from the bridge wings or mast. Then again we were landing in water not some wee net.

I've always been able to keep working, but I have lost a few good career jobs. Closure of the Asbestos works when I was young. Another was Permaflector lighting, assembling specialty industrial lighting, got gobbled up by a big U.S. firm and closed. Bankruptcy of OFG Inc in 2007. I always managed to bounce back and find a new path for myself.
