  1. Used to "golf" when I was younger, or a unique variation. It was called "biff, bam, bop". Utterly impossible to play a full 18. Near impossible, some days, to even play 9 holes.
  2. March is going to be a busy month. To start March break there are 2 venues on Sunday the 10th: the Niagara Outdoor Show in Ft Erie the Bowmanville Taskle Swap Then on Saturday the 23rd there is the Hamilton Bassmasters Tackle Swap in Ancaster. This is the first time the son and I will be doing all 3 shows.
  3. The breweries get to save a buck a box.
  4. In summer months, it's all about timing. Don't know if you could still get squid off the docks in August. That is a hoot in itself. Find rivers and streams running into the ocean and fish the tidewaters in the surf. Ron Ferguson would be the only go to I have left on good spots down east. All the rest have passed on.
  5. In PEI get on one of the party boats for mackeral
  6. I found the Sportsman Show to be rather disappointing last year. That's why more people are coming out to small venues like the Niagara Outdoor show https://www.niagaraoutdoorshow.com/ The Bowmanville Tackle Swap Mar 10th and the Ancaster Tackle SwapMar 23rd

  18. English friends picked some up at a specialty shop in Burlington
  19. This week we did our annual family cooking marathon. Day one, pick up last minute groceries, thaw 20 lbs of ground meats, make turnip casseroles from the 5 large rutabagas I had picked up. Thursday, the main event..... 20lb of cabbage rolls and another 10lb of meatloaf. Mother and I also chowed down on a special treat for breakfasts this week. Nice hearty helpings of bacon, eggs, and blood pudding. We's is living good.
  20. Turnips are white and smallish. Rutabaga/Swede turnip is large and yellow fleshed. The latter is a fall staple for us Scandinavian types. As for the vegetable marrow, An English and European staple that you find at farmers markets. We grow them.
  21. 1000 lakes before I'm gone to dust.
  22. My fall isn't over yet.
  23. THere is a time for detail and a time for simplicity. Depends if you are going for the reaction strike, or trying to tease in that immovable beast in the weeds.
