  1. Come to think of it ... nexT time I am at the ZEC I need to make a point of getting some pictures of the beautiful yellow and black salamanders (which I used to see so commonly in my youth) ... but now only rarely see. This spring there were at least a half a dozen within spitting distance of the dock !
  2. Pretty fish !

  4. Hey Wayne, keepin all fingers crossed and little prayer your brother bud !
  5. Fantastic Mike ! We all know she's got a great musky-mentor .. but experiences like that are golden !
  6. Yep .. sounds like air in the gas line to me ... I messed around alot with that and finally switched to a new tank with new bulb/line/float and viola the problem disappeared ...try a new tank first before messing around with the motor ...especially if it revs up before it dies...
  7. I am with Spiel on this one Cliff ... who needs gnarly old pickerels (even if they giggle atcha from your own dock) when you can get god's own beauties from a canoe in a secret creek ... what a great way to spend a day !
  8. What I was really hoping to see was the 50 lb laker his Carp beat out
  9. Nope .. not quite the last time .... after the funeral there is gonna be HST on every ones cab fare home ... cause you KNOW they would never drink and drive
  10. Only part I still don't get is how prices could go down ... am I missing something ? Before HST, When I bought stuff for resale it was PST exempt (to me) ... and I charged 5 + 8 = 13% and gave it all (less GST ITC) to the govt on two separate submissions ... now I'll pay HST on everything... and charge 13% and give it (less HST ITC) to the govt ... so basically its a wash.... but the fact is a bunch of things (mostly services) will be 8% more expensive for the end user ... it is what it is
  11. What .. no Lakers or Musky ? Gr8 report !
  12. "Bet yours slipped and then tore." Yeah ..thats it !!! What a Great photo essay Joey .. thanks for sharing .. another banner Lakair trip that I wasn't part of .. jeeze I guess one of these years I am absolutely gonna have to make the journey ... but it seriously its great to be able to live vicariously through your camera lens

  14. Sturgeon ... last time I was there I scored a sweet 9.9hp Johnson Seahorse motor and lost a 50+ musky ... and shared a beer with Big Cliff on his dock ... now thats a triple header ...

  22. but the water levels are just a wee bit lower than I remember in the old days
  23. Congrats Wayne ! My oldest left on a plane for Bermuda today ... and while I am so proud of her (she finished her degree in Biology and Psychology and landed herself a job at Dolphin Quest chasing her dream) ... I fear it has ripped a big hole in my heart ...they grow up just a little too fast ...
  24. Try casting Johnson Silver minnow (weedless) with a yellow double mister-twister tail in towards rocky shoreline at any points and around islands ... you're bound to find a few hungry-toothies dont be afraid to tip the hook with a minnow... also try the old faithful ... drag a big red-white (dare-devil) or yellow-red (5 of diamonds) type spoon 3 - 5 inches ...any aggressive fish will be sure to give chase
  25. According to the 1927 US Postal Service scales (Purchased on ebay several years ago) she was exactly 1 lb 15 3/4 oz...after burping up a couple oz of water and was exactly 19.25" ....the big fish for the weekend.
