  1. I say tiger. It seems like when pike recently invade muskie water, tigers are more common.
  2. Funny mistar, last week I bought the same light kit you bought for my tinny, and a new tire and rim for my pontoon trailer. Trailers = troubles That light kit is submersible but not sealed, it gets wet and drains out, hot light bulbs and cold water shatters bulbs

  4. You're getting out of the truck to do stuff anyways, why not unplug the lights, my regular routine too. I don't know why, but trailers suck. Bearings, tires, lights, axles, winches, seem to be constant trouble.
  5. Looks like a great day out there Chris.
  6. Looks like a fun trip, and beauty pikes.
  7. That's a monster! That sounds like a lot of fun, I wish I had a spot like that.
  8. Lots of suckers = big pike, very cool place to live Simon
  9. That's a species I haven't caught, cool to see. Gotta love pontoon party fishing.
  10. Not all cool reports have slime. Good post. I've been buggered right up from fog so I can relate.
  11. "water on the water, beer on the pier", you're not a good role model Bunk
  12. Does your buddy need any new buddies? Sounds like a heck of a weekend, very cool.
  13. Exactly. Package deal, the guys do it in one trip and one day. Don't expect to save a lot on energy costs. My furnace was 30 plus years old and the new one only gives me a little savings. Sears did all the paper work and I got my gov't rebates.
  14. That's the "spirit trout" I'm going to tell this story to some of the old timers around my cottage when they say- "nah, ain't no use lettin' them go, they die anyways comin' up from deep water" I'm surprised nobody asked. Are you going back to try for 5 in a row this year?
  15. Is it just me, or do those kids look super competent for their age, very cool. Lots of fish and no crowds, sounds like a great day.
  16. I went through this 2 years ago. Boonstra was a about $300 cheaper than Sears but I went with Sears, better warranty. My furnace was old but working fine. My AC was toast. It was worth it to do both at the same time. I had 5 estimates. A lot of weaselly, used car salesmen types in that business.
  17. Kickin' butt as usual Aaron, that sounds like a blast!
  18. What a whirl wind 9 days! Great read and some beauty fish Chris and company.
  19. It looks like you've got a couple hidden gems there. Beauty fish!
  20. Suckers wouldn't be suspended 10 or 20 feet down. What fishfinder are you using SCL? Seems wonky with those temp readings. I don't really use mine for looking for suspended fish 10 feet down. The beam is narrow and surface clutter shows stuff that may look like fish. Lake Joe is likely similar. They were suspended 50' down over deep water (90 plus), could see them plain as day. Bassman found the same thing up on Kash. Ciscos will show up as a thick school on the screen, deep, 40 plus feet down, usually suspended. If you see that, jig a smaller spoon right in the school, they often bite. I tried some ice fishing spots where I fish on bottom and they definitely weren't there.
  21. That looks like a blast. I love paddling those rivers with a quick pace and no nasty spots.
  22. Cyclops is my go to spoon for jigging and trolling. What colour are you using Joey?
  23. My Dad took me and my brother into Fishog Lake for bass. We would give this farmer $5 and he would let us drive in. I was probably 10. The live frog I was using never hit the water, a hammer handle muskie grabbed it out of the air. Pretty cool.
  24. Pretty sweet backyard. It definitely has it's perks living up there. What did you get today?
  25. Gull Lake, Haliburton yesterday (I hope my boss isn't reading this), most water was 45 degrees, I found some 54 degree water and caught 1 laker, most were suspended down 40 to 60 over deep water. Bassman is up on Kash and same thing, suspended fish. I've heard old timers say "when the poplar leaves are the size of dimes" and "when the blackflies are at their peak" is the best time for spring lakers, brookies, splake. There's only a few dopey black flies and the buds haven't popped at all. I think next weekend will be better fishing.
