  1. Like others said, pulling the trigger without knowing what you're shooting at deserves some sort of punishment, especially since a young guy ended up dead. Very sad story. Horse pooh in my opinion.
  2. Getting out on a day like that is sweet enough, fish or not. Nice pictures!
  3. Gull Lake Haliburton, 15" of good ice, 5" of crap ice on top, some receding around the shores with lots of sun exposure.
  4. Huuuge turn out. It was only Chris and I. No tall boys for you! The good thing was the weather and we didn't see a single ice fisher or snowmobile and it felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves. We thought about hiking into Chris Lake but we fished a different spot I like late in the season. I got the first one, then Chris caught the next 8, Hahaha. Funny how that works out sometimes. No size though. After catching 8 in a row, I accidentally knocked Chris's rod and reel down the hole so he was done for the day. All fish released. Awesome time of the year up there. A fun day.
  5. That looks like a great way to enjoy the warmer temps. Update us on tomorrows prospecting for chrome.
  6. I like stuff like this. Lures are worth more than rods/ reels and the original box is a huge plus. I inherited a bunch of old reels, more than pictured here I bought a book that appraised old reels. I was surprised that a cool, very old reel was worth $15 US, Hahaha. I'll just keep them and pass them down.
  7. Gull Lake, south of Minden, Saturday morning (if the ice is ok) PM me your cell # Fidel
  8. I don't know what picture I like better, that obese laker or the Bravo posing on the ice very cool Bunk
  9. Even people I don't know are welcome. It's kinda like a last minute GTG and a farewell to the hard water season.
  10. Shane has received a -2 tall boys
  11. anytime Rick, us and little fisher may visit you some time soon too
  12. not Friday, Saturday, family dinners come and go, spring ice in Halibuton trump that everytime
  13. Kewley, you're a friend and welcome anytime
  14. you come on Saturday I give you a tall boy Bill! Come on! edit- Bring your 550. Hahaha
  15. You also receive zero tall boys Brian
  16. You receive zero tall boys Bunk
  17. I'm going up and will check the ice on Friday. If people want to come up, the cost of being shuttled to the "spot" is 1 tall boy. People with sleds or quads will receive 1 tall boy for helping out
  18. I don't blame you. Crazy, nasty water down there for sure.
  19. Queenston. To keep it simple, drift with a 1 oz jig and 4" white twister tail near bottom, follow the other boats, if you're on the US side, a US licence is needed, check the sat images to make sure the water isn't chocolate milk before you go
  20. Chinese products, good prices! Just curious, why lay it down? A specific storage place?
  21. That's a good thing Wayne, less pressure, Hahaha I'm not the typical cottager, but there's a common thread and that's the appreciation of the wilder places and getting out of the city.
  22. Hopefully the spawn and recruitment are good this year but I have a feeling these last 2 years aren't good and we will notice it down the road. I think the walleye will be on fire again for the first 2 or 3 weeks though this year. Just me and my crystal ball's guestimate.
  23. If you did want to boat in and camp, the French is an option then. Hartley Bay or Dokis are good places to launch. Scenic and semi-remote.
  24. Sounds like he's knowledgeable beyond his years. A respectful little outdoors man too. Post some pictures when you guys get back. It would be nice to see some soft water.
