  1. We (me included) whine about our high taxes, but we don't complain about the help we get when we need it. Glad you're ok, good story.
  2. Chad would know better, but it looks like an intentional burn off to avoid costly remediation. Hopefully you're upwind Rick.
  3. Land of the little sticks. The mosquitoes don't look fun but fishing sure does! When are you gonna have the report up, I'm leaving soon?
  4. The crash was last night and the fire started this afternoon? Seems odd. I may be wrong, but I thought diesel was hard to ignite. It does look like heavy smoke from diesel though. Even if CN released info, I still wouldn't trust they were telling the truth or the whole story.
  5. My Curado is close to 25 years old and doesn't owe me anything. Suddenly the drag isn't smooth. With a fish on, it loads up, then chatters and releases 6' of line or so, then loads up again, etc. This condition happened suddenly, not gradually. How can I fix an old reel like that?
  6. Looks like a good day out there Bain.
  7. ok, I like Zhawendaagoozi or Misaabooz The last one is more appropriate for you and your wife Happy times Bud, congrats again!
  8. Nice Rick, congrats! What exactly are you trying to do up there, live off the land and retire with the baby bonuses?
  9. Beauty laker 4x4!
  10. I hope you make a full recovery. Hopefully this inspires others to live a healthier lifestyle, me included.
  11. Yes, I did enjoy, thanks. I maybe mistaken, but is that the lake where you guys caught the same laker year after year?
  12. Yeah, nice looking spot Rick. There's gotta be a bunch of eyes in there as well.
  13. Yeah, there's life at both ends of that red dirt road. Nipigon looks awesome but Onaman Lake has been on my radar for a while and I hope to get there someday. Awesome as usual Bunk.
  14. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm usually a fan of Fisherman's input. Not cool calling him names. Erich, I may not agree with you on this topic, but you're welcome in my boat anytime.
  15. You're right Bri Shawn, Fishingdevil https://youtu.be/dPE-eB07JkM?list=PL96266F49E4594A39
  16. Bill is opinionated and argumentative so we tried to avoid him.
  17. My wife had her card hijacked but it was corrected without too much fuss. Credit cards rock, if you pay them off monthly. I use my CT Options Mastercard for everything and always pay it off. Free stuff I've got- 2 BBQs, Dewalt table saw, Scotty downrigger, hunting blind etc..... tons of stuff,
  18. In Haliburton the minimum is 850 square feet. The price for land on desirable lakes in cottage country can be pretty high. Renting the place out is definitely an option during the summer to bring in some money.
  19. yeah, "recreational" fishing If I had the time and money for a fleet of boats I likely wouldn't fish off the pontoon
  20. I bought an 18' pontoon with a 25 hp 4 stroke. It does 12 mph. It mostly stays on one lake. I love the thing. Great to recreational fish from, cruising, bimini top for shade, comfy, can carry lots of people. I have a down rigger mounted on it too. 18' would be the minimum size, docking is easy. I would buy one with a trailer (I did). A carpet floor gets dirty and moldy. A net helps landing fish because you are pretty high off the water.
  21. For a 14'/ 9.9, class 1 is fine, 4 cyl car, don't need 4x4 truck. I would look for a fairly new, used outfit with a Japanese motor, just my opinion
  22. Good on you for caring about the situation. Sometimes fish are more resilient than you would expect. Last year I hooked a walleye through the gill raker, bleeding a lot, and thought it would die. I didn't want to keep it but I hit it on the head twice and put it on the stringer to keep it cool on a warm day. A couple hours later, the stringer is shaking. the walleye is alive and spunky, with 2 scars on it's head. We called it the zombie pickerel.
  23. I would guess a she. Good update/ report for us guys living in the concrete jungle down here, keep them coming.
  24. Good. He's a great angler and photographer, no doubt. Socially, he's opinionated and argumentative.
