  1. What make was the broken sled?
  2. Why didn't you include any of my fish pictures? edit- gonna teach Lil Fisher how to not go for a polar bear dip
  3. Bass are a better option in July. Lots of free, crown land routes around my cottage. I could set you up Huzz.
  4. Looks like a great trip. You did better than us. The sun felt awesome though.
  5. Looks like some solid, back lake outings. I'm always interested in different homemade tip up designs. Lets see a close up pic if you have one.
  6. I've paddled those rivers. The easiest way to die is get caught in a sweeper, a fallen tree. Sad story.
  7. I could sell that for $2500 easy, all day long, next November, where I live.
  8. A quick fish is way better than hanging around the house IMO.
  9. Looks like a great way to spend the evening to me.
  10. We've been down this road before. I'm with FnF. On a positive note, hey Justin, I'm netting about $50 more per week with your income tax changes, pretty cool, thanks man!
  11. How much ice where you were Chad? Sounds like a fun day.
  12. Small world. I know exactly where you are talking about Joey. Pretty steep climb on the return trip back to Little Gull. The wallies are pretty scarce and not worth targeting. Walk out to 60 FOW, live minnow, see what happens. PM me if you want more specifics.
  13. I took my chainsaw and enlarged the cockpit and made a spot for my dry bag to drop in.
  14. By the time the work week is done and the weekend rolls around, crowds are the last thing I want. So I went fishing.
  15. I'm guessing disease. The wounds don't look like a bird or fish attack. It could be the healing stage of lymphosarcoma This stage is when the tumors are in the healing process. Sometimes this can be mistaken for things like lamprey hits or in this case maybe boat prop damage. About 50%+ of our pike caught this weekend had similar wounds. stage2.JPG http://hotspotoutdoors.com/forums/topic/44139-esocid-lymphosarcoma/
  16. Like Dave, we always just called them Bombardiers, pronounced "Bom ba deers"
  17. Had to launch the permanent hut for those conditions. We drove 6 km like this, Hahaha Here's where I slept Saturday night. An old timer who pays attention to that kind of stuff said it dropped to minus 39 in Haliburton and he doesn't remember a night colder than that.Sunday I fished outside no problem, in the sunshine and no wind at -18.
  18. I think it's good that you're inspired to do something Peter. I think things look scary. Most of us, me included, are too involved in our own little lives to do anything. Good for you man.
  19. No, but I'll take 10 of them, hook line and sinker.
  20. Keep them cool. Buy an aerator, then you will have it for the next time you get minnies.
  21. The first shooting was justified? There was absolutely no danger to anyone and the kid complied and stepped back. 9 bullets fired in the street is dangerous. Can you explain how it was justified?
  22. Wakami would be my pick too. Great waterfront sites. No bass though. I wasn't big on Ivanhoe. Missinaibi is cool but the sites are set back. In Algonquin, Kiosk had some good waterfront sites and bass.
  23. Looks like team Polaris had a great day. Sweet report guys! How much ice up there?
  24. I finally had the time to hit some different lakes, so that's what my Dad and I did. Tough guys lip their Lakers. Nobody lips a pickerel.Pretty sure we'll hit this lake again.Back on Gull, we could see a critter running on the ice. The otter would get some speed, then playfully slide on his belly. When I got too close it showed me how fast it can actually go, jack rabbit fast. I don't know how it knew there was a spot with open water after travelling 500m on the ice.
