  1. Nice job, that'll work! Those skis will slide effortlessly. A cup holder and an OFC decal and you're done.
  2. Oops. Should be warranty covered. Trouble free riding for years now. Looking forward to your upcoming back lake reports.
  3. Would you feel better if I sent you some flowers?
  4. I don't think I'll be doing any serious off roading any time soon OI. I couldn't handle the branches scratching the paint and plastic fenders too. Yeah, the windshields still fold down. Looking forward to it,as soon as the temperature hits 15 degrees, the top is coming off for a cruise.
  5. Long handle, light. I've done physical labor for 20 years and the swing of the axe is way easier on my wrists than jabbing a spud.
  6. I know you're super busy, but get your arse back up there for a winter weekend for old times sake, just post some pics.
  7. There's a decent chance we crossed paths back then. Small world for sure!
  8. My crappy cottage is yours, anytime you and the family want it, the only stipulation is post some pics.
  9. Ok, I'll take some of the idiot weight off of you. A buddy and me had an absolute perfect day sledding in Hali. Late in the day, I was showing off, running open water on Kushog and I didn't make it. I hit a stump earlier in the day and it opened a hole in the belly pan, allowing water to spray onto my clutch. Luckily, the water was shallow and I could dive under to get a rope around the ski and we dragged the sled out. After an hour of swimming and screwing around, I was frozen and needed to warm up immediately, the sun was down and it was -15. Funny, we went to the Ox Narrows bar, when I walked in, a guy in the back said "you wet?" Me "yeah". He yells to the bar tender, "Mabel, we've got a wet one here!" Mabel in a raspy voice "GET DOWN TO THE BASEMENT, STRIP OFF, PUT YOUR crap IN THE DRYER, GRAB THE HOUSE COAT, COME BACK UP!" like she's seen it dozens of times before .Drinking hot chocolate at Ox Narrows in a house coat was actually a blast. I didn't feel normal and warm until 3 days later. It's all funny, but it's really easy to die when on the ice. I'm a bit older than you Rick and would say err on the side of caution. .
  10. Good to have Bunk back in town. To be honest, Harry caught them all, me and the Cisco Kid were skunked but trying for a different species. I think Harry puts them up his bum. I'm not big on eating lakers or herring.
  11. Way better than the crap on WFN. Crazy day, great video, and they all went back down the hole, very cool!
  12. I find a light, long handled axe a better tool with more uses.
  13. Helix 5 Si GPS mounted to be portable. I like it but I don't find Si and Di very useful. No winch, I'm still in the honeymoon phase and won't do any serious off roading yet.
  14. Is that still intact and frozen John? Can I borrow it? I have a couple laker ice derbies coming up.
  15. Post a pic of the belt and clutches if you can. If the belt is worn and thin, it will sit low in the secondary and it will be like trying to start off in tall gear, like trying to pull away from a stop sign in your car in 4th gear sort of thing.
  16. No pictures, it didn't happen. If you end up under the ice and downstream of where you broke through, you're done. Stuff is just stuff and can be replaced. Your family needs you around man, be careful.
  17. Backing down the drive way I went too far to one side. 5 inches of good ice, nobody venturing out to the main lake yet though.
  18. Nice Bri! Gotta love deep fried whitefish.
  19. I'd say you guys did pretty good, that lake can be tough. You picked a good day, the sunshine looks awesome.
  20. I planned to stay with the family Saturday. It was tough to see my friends out on the ice with the nice sunshine. Drinkin' with my bud. The skies were clear for the Wolf Moon. It's the dead of winter but it feels like it won't be long until Maple sap is flowing. First day on the ice for me, January 24th, ouch. It was like an itch I had finally scratched. Harry Balz and the Cisco Kid. It was the first time she was shifted into 4 wd. I did get stuck and had to cut down a poplar tree to get out Damn, I can't wait until the next trip up there.
  21. I would start with the simple stuff first, new NGK plugs and fresh gas if you haven't already. I had an 82 Excel. Check to see the choke isn't stuck open because the cable is out of place. Sounds rich like Chad mentioned.
  22. Probably twins or triplets in there.
