  1. I'd say you had a great season, cool video, Chad got a nice brookie too
  2. G I'm not trying to ruffle feathers, but tips on how to have a better country from our friends south of the border, is annoying (for lack of a better word), after what happened on Wednesday
  3. sorry Aplumma, I respectfully say that your last reply doesn't really have relevance up here, I guess you just have to live here, things are a little different, to each his own basically, I think this thread is just us Canadians venting, asking questions, and honoring the heroes and fallen soldiers
  4. Trolling minnow baits, in current areas, from dusk into the night, is another option
  5. Whopper, this isn't the time or place for red, white and blue flag waving an ugly, stupid incident for sure, a sad day
  6. Hi FFA, welcome aboard Can we just ask questions to you in this thread instead of PMing you?
  7. Hamilton, Mandarin Buffet last fall, walking through the parking lot with my Grandmother, a rough looking guy approaches "I have no food for my kids" my grandmother gave him $20 almost 2 hours later, we come out, he approaches again, "I have no food for my kids" there was some other words I won't mention, and a little saliva may have been spraying out of my mouth when I spoke, but I said "she just gave you $20, why aren't you back at home with grocery's?"
  8. Very cool Shawn, nice hook set!
  9. I am now.
  10. cool Bernie takes some pics and post them of what you do and what it's like up there, a lot of us city slickers are jealous also, check in on OFC regularly when in camp, in case we need help with our sleds and outboards
  11. looks like a great season Jaques, nice bonus channel cats too
  12. I had an absolute blast at Whitewater! Caught some beauty fish and loved experiencing the history of the lake. The whole place had a very cool vibe! The lake, the scenery, and like you said the camp was incredible. Almost too nice actually LOL! Really enjoyed spending time with you Mike, you're the real deal.
  13. He fits it perfect, post some more pics when the snow flies
  14. I do enjoy the multi species angling opportunities, this spring I caught a surprise, fat, healthy, 12 pound pike in Beech Lake. I've spent my entire life escaping to Haliburton, it's too late now, but I would prefer it to have stayed the way it was
  15. Hey James, call Mike before booking something. He will figure out what's important to you, and then recommend the best lakes for your budget.
  16. Very cool trip and report. You take better pictures than I do. Not to be a spoiler, but is your buddie's laker a little predictable, if you know what I mean?
  17. That's less than 1 walleye per guy, per day! Weird. Drastic water level fluctuations from the dam can screw things up. Did you have a fish finder and try the deepest water you could find when things were slow? Post some pictures if you get a chance. I'm sure there's a few of us who would be interested in seeing them.
  18. I'm not interested in carp fishing, but I had to reply, that video was incredible!
  19. I don't know if it's true, but I heard a private pond above Kushog, was stocked with pike by the owner, and it over flowed into Kushog (20 + years ago?). From Kushog, down Buckslide into Boshkung, up to Beech/ Maple etc., down to 12 Mile/ Mountain/ Horseshoe etc Going from Balsam to Gull, there's 4 dams in between, I don't think that's how they colonized the upstream lakes. Muskies were stocked in Brady, probably 40 years ago. They made their way down Anson Creek, which isn't much of a waterway, into Longford Township, Rainy, Big Trout, Logan etc. I'm pretty sure nobody thought they could get through there. The Longford guys were ticked off too. Pretty amazing and scary too, how species can invade.
  20. I don't think they clip the dorsal, unless you mean the adipose fin great shots, I would have lifted that guy over the trough
  21. I don't know the answer to your question, but fish communities have changed drastically in the last 5 years in Haliburton. Not Brian, but the other 2 posts refer to systems that traditionally had pike and SMB, A recent introduction of pike is different.
  22. damn! that makes me really want to get out, other commitments are screwing me up beauty fish! How do you rig your big minnows, 3 way?
  23. my Dad just bought a new Polaris Sportsman 400 (it's actually around 450cc), bare bones, all in, out the door for $6000 I agree a Yami would be better but the they are far more expensive
  24. I think that rule is in place because if the first night of the week, your 1 goalie playing throws up a shut-out, you could bench your goalies the rest of the week and have a GAA of 0, and a save percentage of 1000 at the end of the week I was using that tactic a little last season
  25. I'm guessing you let that one go, it doesn't look overly appetizing
