I would ask to see if they could acquire the ownership before putting more interest into the sled. Who knows, maybe they know the original owner. If they stumble, ask them how much it's worth to them in a dollars to do the leg work and acquire the title themselves. You can then use that measure as your risk factor and go from there. If they don't know how to go about it, perhaps you can guide them with the details mentioned above in this thread. Test them to see how they answer and develop your own judgment through that. Otherwise, save yourself a big headache. Just a thought.

Maybe that dog wasn't really lost Mike ... I sometimes take little events like that as good omens. Perhaps it was a sign of good things to come and a message to tell you that everything will be just fine. The community will stay strong for you Mike. It's relieving to hear such reassuring words from people like Rick, who has been down the same path.

Karma... it is a three way street correct?
discophish replied to irishfield's topic in General Discussion
A strong family and her will to survive and conquer makes all the difference in the world. She will beat this. She has a heart that can evidently overcome everything. That's the magical power. You know this because you have told us. -
My guess would be electrical ... just a guess. You can test a coil for resistance and measure to spec, but not always indicative of proper function. Hmm. Something is happening to that spark journey of yours from the source down to the little electrodes. A pair? Hopefully not the processor! Hope you get it sorted out Will.

Neighbor kid just shot a bb through my living room window!

When I read through that post, it sure did sound like the damaged glass was the main concern here too. -
It's official I finally got my Canadian Green Card
discophish replied to aplumma's topic in General Discussion
Insert the card into an ATM machine and wait for the prompt to see what you have won. If it displays Canada's deficit in the Billions ... RUN!!! Don't play again because it's a losing battle! -
Wow. Awesome job! Great effort put into this project, for sure. You seemed to have made some friends along the way, and created that terrific opportunity. The experience that you gain during a project like this sets you aside from most of us boat owners who just try to maintain a tidy boat. It takes a lot of mental endurance to keep up and overtake the work. I'm sure you can go back to the first day that you took a step back from its original state, and remember when you doubted yourself ... as others did. Now look! That's priceless!

Awesome report! If only we could all grow some feathers ... I was once too a "young eagle", and I clenched that bag like you had described. I wouldn't have thought that I would be sick, but then again, I get sick on all of the amusement park rides, except for the coasters. It wasn't ever as bad as the first time, but I was still nauseous while still knowing what to expect. Looks like you have a situation under your dock. Some guy under there with a sign around his neck that says "Don't Bother Me". Perhaps if you stomp hard enough it will go away. You are a lucky man with great family/friends that surrounds you.

Nice fish. Congrats on your 50+ So this explains why my Princecraft livewell has a drainage problem, and had a broken aerator when I bought it from you. The big fish you catch must have hit the rivets and motor a few times too. Impressive.

Family Fun In N/W Quebec ~ Plus A Backlake Bonanza With HTHM
discophish replied to solopaddler's topic in General Discussion
Outstanding report Mike! Thank you so much for the awesome read and fun pictures! You have paradise up there, and better yet, have great family and friends to share it with. Of course, since there were mention of some fish in the report, they aren't so bad too! hehe. -
3 to 6 feet? Small mouth bass prefer temps around 68-70 degrees. Try fishing deeper. I'm not a bass angler, but this is a true story that happened to me in late July of this year. I was trolling my baits down at 100 feet (actual corrected depth) for lakers in a clear Muskoka lake. Guess what I caught? A small mouth! And I know for a fact that the fish didn't hit on the way down. I knew exactly when the fish struck the lure. I'm not saying fish 100 fow ... but give the deeper parts that are available to you a shot! Good luck.

Are you sure this opportunity is about fishing and not about Mariko's bikini? Actually, come to think of it, that would be a little awkward since her dad uncle will be hosting ... but who knows. Maybe they need the ratings. Haha! kidding. Congrats!

Best Fishing Lake in Muskoka or Haliburton Region?
discophish replied to rover1.5dx's topic in General Discussion
Oooh! Now this sounds like a lot of fun. Where do I sign up? -
I accuse the neighbour at the cottage of the same thing. Bloody hell ... it blows my socks off. I became so steamed one morning after the cottage running out of coffee, that I stormed out to take a picture of him ... catching him in the act red beaked! I submitted this picture to the processes of the ministry. I am waiting to hear back from them.

Are you sure the Osprey wasn't hunting you and not the fish? They are pretty big birds with sharp beaks. Good job with the Pickerel!

Awesome job on the lake! I hope your next trip with your buddies is as good as this one. Does this put you in a good enough mood to consider giving up those seats? Hahaha!

I'm so sorry to hear that about your son John. That's terrible. I had a similar experience where our bound was occupied by an oncoming passer. We were lucky to have lost control on the hwy and missing everything down a hill off the road. It's not something that I like to remember. I'm glad everyone was okay Rick.

The Pickering nuclear plant is killing fish by the millions

Why don't they just plug up the intake hole with golf balls and rubber tires? The major think tanks can redeem their method elsewhere. -
9.9 Cutting out at low throttle (trolling speed)
discophish replied to ctranter's topic in General Discussion
I would suspect this too. I had the same problem with my 9.9. Sounds totally gas related. The vacuum in your gas line is probably leaking somewhere ... check your line all the way to the tank. Could also be a torn diaphragm on your bulb. I had that problem too! Both caused the motor to respond as yours is currently operating. Good luck with the fix. -
You can say that again. When I heard at one point they were heading to College on Spadina, I thought of boarding up my windows at Bathurst! Hehe. I stayed clear of the scene as well. My girlfriends good friend is an OPP officer that was controlling the crowd this weekend. Why add to the problem just because we are curious? How does the saying go ... "Curiosity killed the cat". We watched it unfold on the screen instead. Have better things to do anyway ... and why the heck wasn't I out fishing this weekend???!! Argh!! Fishing? I should really try it sometimes, see what all the hype is about.

I have spent my life cottaging the area. I wouldn't mind knowing the same thing that you are after. I have gone out to the bay for other fish, but I have never crossed the highway to fish for lakers and always stay inland for them. I would be interested to make that attempt if I knew a little more detail about the where/when/how's. Hmm. I have the small craft nautical charts for severn to the sound, but it challenging to see fish swimming around on a paper map ... unless you are an artist and sketch them in. I'm thinking it's easier to spin the bottle on the map and go to whatever location it points to.

Asian Carp Confirmed Above Chicago Electrical Barrier
discophish replied to craigdritchie's topic in General Discussion
<pinching myself> ... is it true? You mean my dream of actually catching a fish has come closer to a reality? I never thought I would need a baseball glove to catch my first fish. -
When I was there last to buy my white water kayak at Boatwerks on hwy 35 in Minden, there was a bait shop attached to the same building. I forgot their name, and I'm not even sure if they are there anymore. The kayak store is still there. They held all of the angling information to the area, so when you go through, stop in to talk to the guy. The Gull river that runs along 35 is a white water preserve and paddling park. It's almost impossible to fish because boaters are always paddling the white water, especially on the weekends. There are trout in there, I know that for sure. If the bait shop is not there, the paddling guys will know. The owner (Strano) is an avid local angler, especially for lakers in the surrounding area. Good luck!

Welcome back! Looking forward to reading more! Good to see that things are well with you, and that you haven't lost your passion for fishing.

Sweet deal on the motor! The Anthem and Cliff! I haven't seen either of you in so long!
