  1. A tall fence will take care of those neighbours Lew, and you can shoot the deer. Don't get the two mixed up 'kay? Jim
  2. I can't compare the two as I have only used the Daiwa Excellor. What I have noticed was that the Excellor on sale at BPS is within pennies of the regular price at Le Baron (who's new catalogue just arrived in the mail . You might want to look into it before heading to BPS. Good luck! Jim PS I just checked and LeBaron's regular price is cheaper than BPS's sale price.
  3. Are there not enough people waxing poetically about a person that they don't even know, that you guys have to flame someone for having a different opinion? Where are the moderators? oops, never mind. Jim
  4. I think you timed it perfectly by getting the mobile gig just as the weather gets nice. Very clever. Jim
  5. Near the town of Roseneath, on Rice Lake is a cottage place called "Springbank Camp". They have a little two man cottage over top of the boat house that would be perfect for you and your boy. Great walleye everywhere and bass fishing right off the dock (hell, right off the cottage porch if you like). PM me if you need contact info, but you won't be sorry. Jim
  6. Can't we train the Bears to eat the Coyotes? Jim
  7. I went for a hovercraft ride last summer in Caledonia (twice actually) and it was a hoot. Loud, but a hoot. Jim
  8. I have a 60 horse four stroke that trolls at less than 3 MPH, I can't believe that a 9.9 wouldn't troll slow enough. Every boat I ever rented had a 9.9 on it and every one was terrific. There has got to be a reason that 9.9's are omnipresent and I have never seen a 6 horse, ever. I think I am leaning towards the 9.9. Check out Port Coburn Marine, they have those lease returns on for around $1800.00 c/w remaining warranty. Jim
  9. I still think that Pronger is a wanker (he's just a wanker with a gold medal). Jim
  10. I always knew that you were clever Cudz, but you look like a genius now! Jim
  11. It seems like we are winning everything (or maybe that is the beauty of watching a Canadian channel). Good for us!!! Jim
  12. Um...ouch dude. It is a tough loss because it is a clear case of not coming up big under the pressure. But, ouch man. Jim
  13. If Chuck Norris was on this board he would use his real name and have a Chuck Norris logo in his avatar. (hey, this is fun!) Jim
  14. They were there: Icefishing Old Cronies. Jim
  15. I use a worm binder as well (the cheap ones that I bought at Princess Auto last year) but I keep the worms in their original packages. Mainly because the zip locks on the worm binder are crap, but also because of the info on the packages. This can create some problems as the packages are as big if not bigger than the worm binder sleeves, but I do some origami and it all works out. Jim
  16. When ever I run into someone while fishing I like to say "Have you got a license?" I often follow that up with "Are you keeping that or fishing with it?" If I am Steel Heading I like to say "You're standing in my spot" Then I often say to property owners as I am standing in their back yard "What are you looking at Dufus?" And if I see a cottage owner that looks at me funny because I have just thrown a spinner bait between their kids in the swimming area I say "You don't own the water you know". Hope to see you guys out there! Jim
  17. I would install a seat about half way up on the right hand side. Then I would put in a steering wheel and a throttle lever. Good luck! Jim
  18. If you go used what about Port Coburn Marine? They get all the leased engines back from outfitters etc. They were at the fishing show and the deals looked to be quite good I thought. Jim
  19. I have always found it odd that as a teacher I don't have to have first aid. I have to have a TB test and a police records check (wonderful things both) but no first aid training. And me a shop teacher. Having said that the phys. ed. department produces the most injuries, but same same, no first aid. I have a question for those with their training: Does it get easier once you are trained, to deal with injuries and cuts? That is to say if one is not usually cut out fir that sort of thing, does the training dispel some myths/fears and make dealing with situations easier? Jim
  20. Alright, it's looking a bit better now. Jim
  21. One nothing against Germany is not good enough. What will they do when they face a team (Russia) that shoots back? They are trying to be way too pretty. And I hate the bloody cycle. Jim
  22. The last time I was at Epps they had Cotton Cordell Wally Divers for 4 dollars odd. Regular price!! There is lots to make a stop there for as far as I am concerned. Jim
  23. Holy crap. Jim
  24. That bloody post office...... Jim
