  1. Come on, none of us?....be honest. Jim
  2. Many happy returns of the day Wayne! Jim
  3. Good on you both Dan. It is great to hear about good service and I am glad that Legend did right by you. As far as the picture you posted, I have two words for you: e-harmony. Jim
  4. Who is your dealer? If it isn't Proctor it should be (and, no I don't care where you live ). Good luck, I am sure that Crestliner will put it right! Jim
  5. I have a 1600 fish hawk with the 60 4 stroke. I think the best that I can do with me and my gear is about 34 on the GPS. So 30 on a fifty sounds about right. I have to ask, to what do you think you are upgrading? Jim
  6. Sorry for not clearing this up sooner guys. My original response was due to the fact that in a thread where the question was "What deals did you find at the show?" Bernie66's response (I thought) attempted to make everyone that did go to the show look like a dope for throwing away their money. The beaver pooping thing is regarding the saying that someone is "so cheap, that they would squeeze a nickel till the beaver craps" I responded this way because I thought that Brifishrgy's post was along the same lines as Bernie66. Indicating that he had made a wiser use of his money than those that went to the show. Perhaps it was another one of those times when it would have been better with nothing said. Anyone that would type LOL after a line of complete drivel like that shouldn't be commenting on anyone else's humour. Use your $48 to hire a writer. Are we done now?
  7. Is that a stereo speaker behind the dash? (beside the lure hanging board) That looks like the kind of project boat that a guy could have some fun with. Congratulations. Jim
  8. Hey Wow!!! Welcome back. We've had more returns here this week than the beer store! Glad to hear that you are posting again!!! Jim
  9. Sorry if this is obvious, but can you still view "new since last visit"? I was just getting used to that. Jim
  10. You can almost hear the beaver pooping. Jim
  11. That's good comedy right there Jim
  12. That's just dirty. Jim
  13. Good points all. But it doesn't cost anything to communicate. If you walk like a duck and talk like a duck, people are going to call you a duck. Communication people!!! On a side note, if you are going to post something for sale, include a bloody picture!! If you are asking people to assume your liability (a deposit in this case) provide some details. Jim
  14. With that kind of longevity Roy, it might be you passing judgement on St. Peter. Jim
  15. I hope you and your $48 are very happy together. I spent $30 yesterday for my wife and son and I to hit golf balls into a field. Dig what I'm saying? Saint Peter isn't giving better spots to those with the first dollar they ever made. I had a good day of walking about looking at things. Jim
  16. Remember your high school geography, how many of our lakes and indeed our very land formations were created by retreating rice during the rice age. Albert, when that transom falls off you will feel like a right rice hole. Jim
  17. In my opinion as a boat expert, the rice will absorb the water and expand and the transom will break off entirely Jim
  18. I think that there are deals to be had, they just might be on things that you don't necessarily need. At the boat show this year I saw everyone walking around with mooring poles. Someone must have been giving them away, but I already had one. I think that you also have to keep in mind that there is almost no deal by the time you add cost to get there and cost to get in etc. Which brings it back to what I look at it as; a day out to look at fishing/outdoors stuff. Le Baron does have their no tax event and so do many of the fishing retailers (keeping up with the Joneses). I'll tell you what I start to feel weird about is talking to boat vendors etc. when I know that I am not going to buy anything, Ya know? Same really with the outfitters that are there. My son enjoys shooting a bow and arrow and blasting away at the paint ball booth and a couple of years ago went for an elephant ride (where else can you do that?) Jim
  19. Allllrightythen.
  20. I am ONLY going if I can find some cheap or free tickets. Jim
  21. We just had a thread like this about two weeks ago (which might explain the lack of responses?) Aha! Found it. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41160 Jim
  22. I keep wondering how long it will be before Lake Erie smallies get used to Senkos and tube jigs. I hope never, but it would seem to be inevitable. Unless of course, fish never do actually get used to baits, and it is just something that has been propagated by the lure manufacturing industry. I mean, fish have been eating minnows and other fish for ever right? They don't stop eating minnows. Jim
  23. In no particular order: I watched some fishing shows, drank a litre of red wine, ate at least two excellent meals, had marital relations with my wife, and slept like a baby. Thanks for asking, and good luck with the running thing. Jim
  24. Solid fishing advise there. And not a product to push or an endorsement to defend. Jim
  25. I think that all one had to do is drive through Hamilton or Brantford down town cores, then drive to the mall and check out the parking lot there, to see the "big box" effect in action. Now, whether it is right or wrong, or inevitable, or evolution etc. is a debate that will rage on forever. I still love going to Bass Pro. Like Lew said, for us it is like a trip to the sportsman show. Having said that, I feel almost the same stopping at Epps on the way up highway 11. I love the small shops, I do. But am finding that the idea of driving to the local shop and hoping that they have the Rapala (for instance) in the colour and size that you want, is getting very antiquated. If you have time for advanced planning, and the items are not too heavy, buying on the Internet seems to be the way to go. Jim
