  1. Well at 4am i did not see any more lights this morning other then the normal flashback lights I see daily. Will have a look tomorrow morning if the clouds break
  2. Leaf be sure to come by and say hi. Pete we will see you there. I hope to see alot of OFC members out
  3. I love a thin crust pizza but when you go to Chicago you have to get the deep dish. One of these days I will go to the Chicago musky show but there is not alot of interest from guys down my way and its a long trip for one person. Have a blast guys. Also think about muskies Canada musky Sunday feb 16 at the sportsman show
  4. Is anyone else going to the Musky Sunday at the Spring Fishing show in Toronto on Feb 16th? Muskies Canada is hosting it again this year I am going along with my wife I know a lot of musky guys are going just wondering if anyone from the OFC family will be there? it was on the Monday of this show years back but it has been switched to Sunday again which is great. I will have freebees for the first 100-200 people through the door Sunday morning. We (my wife and I) don't have a booth and are not selling anything just volunteering our time to MCI for a few hours and then checking out the show for the afternoon. Come out and talk musky to help pass along the winternet blues. I don't have all the details but will post them when I know what the times are
  5. Glad to hear about the blood work sorry that Mother Nature is making this rough for you to get down there also Wayne.
  6. So I have been thinking of it from the day this thread was posted and its been hard to think of one. I have been torn like others here on celebs from the board, fishing world hockey music NASCAR and more. Like Brian just posted my father is my first choice but its for celebs not our idols or people we look up to that makes my choice so hard. I guess I would have to say Pat McAfee he is the punter from the Indianapolis colts he is on the bob and Tom show and is funny has snot. He has such a willingness for life and a huge child like eagerness to explore every adventure he can that I think taking him out musky fishing would be crazy with excitement. I have been lucky enough to share my boat and other boats with so many in the OFC family it has been a great time out there with them.
  7. Dang sorry to hear that Joey you for sure has many great pictures on there.
  8. I remember heading out my December 27th what ever year. It was for one of the first fire hall ones. My wife thought I was. Nuts driving 2.5 hours to just have wings with guys and girls I only knew on line. I'm glad I made the trip As I firmed up life. Long friends.
  9. Looks like a nice home coming thanks for sharing any 75# fish would be a great fight.
  10. When I got my first bait caster in the early 80's dad got a spool of the cheapest line. I would go to the park cast cast cast tangle cut line respool and do it all over until the next bad one then start over again. I did that for a long time many weeks a month maybe heck I'm not sure how long bit it worked.
  11. Wow it's been a bit since I looked at this thread back to September 9 I guess I missed some things. I see Matt is still a huge closet leaf fan I think he has the most post here.
  12. So this summer I had some new friends out and as it usually happens one had a backlash but this was the worst I have seen Heck it makes the ones Dave Mercer has look small LOL. I took this pick before working on it I was able to get it out as he did not pull on it he just let it stop on its own and with 15 Min or so work it was out. I did learn a trick for smaller back lashes to get them out it seemed to work OK at times. You reel the line back onto the spool then click the reel like your going to cast start to pull the line from the reel in short hard pulls as you thumb the spool keep doing this until you hit the knot it should pull free I was amazed when a friend showed this to me it works with heavy braid not sure about other lines or light braid.
  13. looks like a great time thanks for sharing 5'6" and 7'5" fish sure do make a killer trip, the only thing I would change is the high end restaurants I like the little mom and pop shops usually they have killer food. I wish I knew how good the fishing was out there when I lived there in the 90's as I was a 2 min bike ride from the river in Abbotsford but then again I might not have come home to Ontario had I started fishing the big river
  14. Just got my son a new bigger helicopter it sure does produce alot of wind when flying it in the house.
  15. Happy New Years to all the OFC family please party safe and be sure to have that sober ride home. I'm spending the night with my family at home nice and quiet were watching the winter classic alumni game right now then maybe forest gump for the late night
  16. It sure is sad as I enjoy reading the good posts and checking out the pictures. I love the ice fishing ones as I have been to busy to get out ice fishing over the last bunch of winters well we also have not had safe enough ice for me to enjoy fishing for pickerel and Walleye yes we get them American pickerel up here LOL. If you look at the responses to the threads with fishing reports there are not near as many reply's to them years back everyone would be chatting about how they did and we would all chime in now they can sink to the bottom with just a couple good jobs. I also found no matter what you target there will be some that will have to complain and bash on a person for showing background, holding wrong, it laying on the boat floor or dirty ground. These are all things that are a learning curve but when guys JUMP on a poster right away that might make others say why would I share my pictures. We can all help them learn by leaving comments about proper ways to change there pictures or handling of fish but the bashers seem to get into the thread first at times and things have gone south before they had a chance to learn. I to have been bad for not sharing all my trips out its seems that time slips away and I don't get them to the board all the time but I enjoy sharing our time on the water. I also find that I don't reply as much when Im on my phone checking in as I am usually at customs waiting in the transport or at a customers waiting so I read and think that I will check back and reply but usually forget. I do enjoy some of the off topic NF posts but really enjoy living through others posts when I'm not fishing.
  17. If your looking for split ring pliers princess auto has some nice ones $4.99 or Walmart had nice ones around $10 I have both pairs and like them better then the $40 pair I had before. I use them for building all my baits and switching hooks on bass baits they are great. As for CLR I have never found it to work like they show on the commercial.
  18. He is as there will be no charge for the Termites
  19. That sounds about right glad things turned out good for you. I guess that is done more good karma for will and cliff lets hope it shows up next summer when we try to get out fishing musky they won a trip for this year.
  20. I will let you in the boat just leave them St.croix here and get yourself some new ones on the trip.
  21. My friend said west jet allows long packages so he brought them with him. Another friend was on a small plane so he could not bring the long rods. I would guess it would be best to as the airline if you can send them with you
  22. When I lived in Sudbury you would be considered lucky if your car was still on the street after a night time snow storm. I saw lots of cars with large snow piles in front and behind them over the years I lived there.
  23. Dang I was upset we did not get above freezing today it's been 32 all day they called for 36 weather men go figure.
  24. Awesome you have a great life up there thanks for sharing with us
